We are in Orillia on a regular basis and I've always wondered about the brunch that the Highwayman Inn promotes on their marquee and banners at the hotel. When trying last Sunday we can into a fairly empty restaurant and at first glance the place needed some updating. Food was ok and selection average. I lost my appetite for the... More

Went to a wedding meal Saturday evening and was there from 6 pm to about 8:30pm. It was a small wedding and they had it in the small room attached to the restaurant and bar. The room was done up nicely. The food (roast beef dinner) was average and was served. They should have had one more waitress serving, as... More

average menu, and exceptional servers. Having the dining onsite is a bonus, no need to worry about having a DD.

While staying at the Highwayman Inn for a 2 family mini vacation we decided to eat at McCabes which is attached to the hotel. It was pretty quiet when we arrived and were kindly greeted by Bonny who would be our waitress for the evening. She quickly seated us, brought over crayons and colouring pages for the 5 kids, and... On our way home from cottage country we stopped in to McCabes for breakfast and found out there was a buffet (instead of their menu) which had everything I wanted and more (not as extensive as their Sunday brunch but still a nice selection). The waitress said we could order eggs any style if we didn't want the scrambled in... More

We had a great buffet breakfast when we overnighted at the Inn. A large bar, restaurant, clean and bright.

This restaurant is a bit rundown. The service was slow but it was a busy night so that might change on a slow night. Service took quite a while. They did have a band playing and the band was excellent. Food was average and tasted homemade.

We stayed at the Inn on a very cold wintery weekend. So needless to say we didn't travel very far. It was an average resturant with average prices. Staff was pleasant and accomidating as we were taking meals to our rooms both nights. Didn't find out until after there was a 10% discount if you were a guest at the... More

it took our waitress 35 minutes to bring us our salads, than over an hour for our dinner, which of course arrived cold. She never came back to our table during dinner to inquire as to how everything was, just dropped our bill off before finishing our meal. And breakfast was just as bad, avoid this restaurant unless you have... More

A group of 35 with reservations & plenty of warning, all ready to submit their order by 6 PM. Order taken, 7:30, still no food. When we inquired about it we were told that after 1 1/2 hours they came to the realization that the kitchen staff couldn't handle the order so "we're bringing up another cook from the downstairs...
