If you've never been, you must go to understand. Only open in the summer I believe. You come through the coolest collection of quirky little houses and beautiful flowers. The food is something that your mom would serve you when you go home to visit....Lovely memory on a sunny day.More

Nina and Rolland have obviously expanded their staff since I came here as a kid, but the service and food are still excellent! They were very accommodating to my husband and me when we mentioned we were vegetarians, and the amount of vegetables and cheese...on the homemade rolls that we received was phenomenal! Be aware that the menu is set, just soup and sandwiches and dessert if desired. The gardens are stunning. We will be back again next year!More

What a gem of a restaurant! Such a beautiful view from the outdoor garden. The food was fantastic! The staff are always so quick and pleasant. Always nice to see the owners there. Can’t wait for next year to go again.

This is a really special experience - sitting in gorgeous gardens in a quiet location having a delicious bowl of soup, a generous and equally delicious sandwich and one of the best slices of cake you could eat - thoroughly worthwhile.

This is a great place to visit. Miniature houses are built all around Nina’s garden. She only has one choice for soup and sandwich but who cares. Desserts are great. Very family friendly. The kids loved walking around the garden. Very unique. One of a...kind garden and atmosphere 🇨🇦❤️More

My husband and I had lunch at Nina's Hillside Garden, along with my sister & her husband, on a Friday in August 2019. The main entrance to walk up is located on Spokane St, a short distance from the Platzl. Nina's Hillside Garden is open...Tuesday-Saturday 11am-3pm, serving lunch & desert. There is no menu - your server will advise you what the sandwich & soup is for that day, which is served with vegetable & fruit garnishes. We arrived at 12:30 pm and thankfully found a table for 4 - it was very busy. We were promptly greeted by a pleasant young woman & today we were offered Cream of Carrot with ginger soup & shrimp salad sandwich, on a fresh baked Swiss bun. She quickly brought us all water (and conveniently left the jug for us to replenish our glasses), as well as lemonade & a diet Coke. While waiting for our lunch to arrive, we enjoyed the flowers and overall setting of the garden. The work that Roland, Nina and the staff put in to the garden is amazing - little houses, antiques, waterfalls & flowers galore. The outdoor tables have umbrellas for shade & there is also indoor seating. Our lunches were absolutely delicious & everything was so fresh. We were full but had to sample two types of cake (Hazelnut and Black Forest) - freshly made by Roland. Only cash is accepted and there is a small fee which is added to your bill (or you can buy a family pass for the season). Highly recommend you try Nina's Hillside Garden for lunch - you can walk up & enjoy the scenery or drive to the top entrance.More

On a recent visit to Kimberley (our first), we asked some locals where to go for lunch. One place they mentioned was Nina's. I couldn't understand why the weather was hinted at during the discussion, but I wanted to check it out anyway. I let...Google Maps take us there and it brought us to a house with a small sign on Spokane St. There were quite a few cars parked along the road, so I assumed we were in the right place. Seriously, if it wasn't for the cars, I might have thought Google Maps was out to lunch (see what I did there?). You walk up to the house and look to the right for the passage to the back. Down some stairs and you open into a beautiful garden. I'm not going to say any more - you have to experience this place yourself. But yes, it's pretty much completely outdoors, so your experience will depend on the weather. There is no menu. They only offer one pairing of food daily, a soup and a sandwich or just the sandwich. This day's offering was ham and brie on a Swiss bun and potato and leek soup. This is all made on premises by the cook, Roland. I met Roland and Nina after we ate. Such a nice elderly couple. The weather cooperated. Lunch was great. You know the food is good when you catch the staff grabbing a bite here and there between visits to tables. The ambiance was super relaxing. So glad we found the place. Bring a camera.More

It was the second time I came here for lunch with my family. Nina's garden is stunning, absolutely beautiful and magical. You have to see it yourself, because words don't do it any justice! They have a set lunch, consisting of a soup and a...roll/bun/Broetchen. We had a cauliflower and apple soup which is delicious 😋, and a chicken and Brie roll. You also get fresh fruit with it. For desert they usually have up to 5 different cakes to chose from. We had a mocha cake which was the only one left, yummie! If you are in Kimberley, you should go there, it is a wonderful experience! 💞More

I am sure you have already been warned that you only have one choice for lunch. That been said......my lunch was terrific. It was starting to shower but there was places outside under cover outside if it's a little misty. The garden are beautiful and...you must go down the walkway from lower down even if you come by car. Even though you have no choice for lunch, you have a choice for dessert. We had the hazelnut torte and it was excellent.More
