Pizza was excellent, thick, tender crust with abundant toppings. We had an inexperienced waitress that make a mistake on our order, even though the restaurant was not too busy. Would recommend for takeout, but not for dine-in. A good place for pizza in the area.

We arrived without reservations on a busy night, four adults and a small baby with stroller. We were seated in a quiet area and made to feel most welcome by our waiter. The pizzas and salad were great. The pitcher of beer cold and delicious...and the service outstanding. We will be back—next time with a toddler in need of a high chair!!More

My Wife and I are new to the Island and we have eaten at Giovanni's several times now. We absolutely love this Restaurant! The Pizza is simply THE BEST. The Pastas are excellent as well. The Linguine Pestcatore Rosso is my favourite so I highly...recommend it! Peter is the Maitre d' waiter and is extremely knowledgeable about the food and especially the Wine pairings. Between the Food, Atmosphere and great staff- this is what keeps us coming back! I had to laugh at one of the reviewers who stated Giovanni's wasn't "fine dining" because the ceiling contrasts with the colours of the walls and floors!. Hilarious! My Wife and I are well travelled and have eaten in some of the finest restaurants in the world from Hong Kong to New York and all across Europe. We have eaten in Italian Restaurants in Rome and up and down the Amalfi Coast. Some of those places are hundreds of years old ; walls with broken plaster and worn paint, as well as old furniture. When you walked in you would have thought a war just ended. But the food, and atmosphere was incredible and what made these Restaurants unique, and are truly fine dining experiences! Go enjoy a nice meal and let Peter take care of you; don't get hung up on wall colours not matching ceilings etc; that is just silly. A big shout to Tracy who is the Manager and always looks after our reservations and is ALWAYS Cheerful, polite and accommodating! Cheers everyone! R&CMore

We got a flyer for this restaurant at our hotel and decided to order a pizza. On the flyer it said free delivery. When we called they said no delivery. When I asked if they would have delivery later in the day, I was ignored....We picked up our pizza and got charged a lot more than on the flyer. The pizza was ok, but I also had the same feeling that it wasn't fresh. The restaurant should collect all their old flyers from hotels, nobody wants to get charged more that expected.More

I ordered my usual vegetarian delight pizza to take home on Easter Sunday. My first indication that this pizza had not been freshly prepared for me (I picked it up within 20 minutes of ordering it) when I got home and opened it up, and...instead of freshly cooked and lightly cooked and inviting cheese, I was presented with a pizza that I feel had probably been made earlier and then just heated up. The cheese was congealed and almost burnt and it was not even hot (again a sign that this was not freshly prepared) the usually soft and appetizing crust was over cooked and, as I say, having eaten these great pizzas for years, I know that this was probably just a heated up one as it looked and tasted horrid and was not the right texture or taste! Ate a couple of slices and gave up on it! Very disappointed but I realise that restaurants have their challenges nowadays but this is not the way to treat loyal customers who know what a freshly prepared pizza looks and tastes like! Will think twice before ordering another pizza for fear of having a repeat of this unfortunate experience! What happened?More

Not a fine dining restaurant by any stretch of the imagination. The white floating ceiling contrasts sharply with dark green walls and tan tile floor. Spartan. In terms of Italian this is mid range, a three but not a four. People tend to give everything...here a four so buyer beware. Instead of encourage restaurants to up their game, we hand out ‘atta boys’. The portion size was a drastic improvement over last time I was here. Not big on flavour, perhaps catering to austere British palates and senior’s avoiding salt. The pizza is delicious. This time the thermostat wasn’t cranked to the max. If someone is that cold, they need to wear thermal underwear and not torture everyone else. The COVID menu is smaller. The pizzas are good, fresh. If you do take out and stick it in your fridge they get soggy. The pasta was decent but not high on flavour. The meats were good grades and well cooked, but not over cooked. If you order Parmesan chicken, beware it is half of a smaller sized breast. Bigger appetites might want to order a second one.More

We have enjoyed every meal we have had here (and in the Bistro) over several years. Despite the pandemic restrictions, the restaurant was warm and cosy. Our experienced waiter was a fount of knowledge and delighted in introducing the menu in mouth-watering detail. Such rapport...between chef and server is rare. The food (both starter and main dishes) was superb and obviously prepared by a talented chef who knows and loves Italian cuisine. Residents and visitors alike are so lucky in having such a consistently fine restaurant in this lovely seaside town.More

My husband and I haven’t been going out for dinner much due to Covid. We decided it was time for a date night last Saturday (Jan 16). We really enjoyed our visit to Giovannis. Our server was great. Friendly and attentive. The tables are spread...apart so it felt safe. We ordered the spaghetti puttanesca and the seafood pasta dish. Both were excellent. On the advice of our server we chose the tiramisu to share for dessert. It was one of the best I’ve had! Altogether a lovely evening.More

Ordered pizza for takeout based on Google. Wow, what luck! I kid you not, this was the best pizza I’ve EVER had!! I’m not exaggerating- try it and you’ll see. It was loaded with toppings, great crust, and cooked perfectly... and overall flavourful. Wish they...had a location in Vancouver!More

In spite of Covid-19 restrictions, economic impacts and local anxieties the waiter at Giovani's Ristorante provided one of the nicest dining experiences we've had in a long time. It was our first visit and won't be our last. Having just moved to the area, we...have been trying many of the local establishments. The Italian menu was not large but offered some interesting dishes which when described by our waiter had us wanting to order them all. He was friendly, welcoming, informative and efficient without interfering with our enjoyment of the wine and delicious food. Our thanks for a lovely evening.More
