Just made our first visit since living in Oceanside. Heard lots about this little gem in Qualicum Beach and we were not disappointed. Good food and service is excellent… recommend the seafood crepes as a regular menu item, I had the special Sliced leg of...lamb, we were both stuffed.
Great drink menu and atmosphere.
Highly recommend a visit, make sure to book ahead as they are popular.More
What to say? In a word: fabulous. We shared a crab cakes starter and then moved on to the seafood crepes and seafood pasta specials. Scrumptious. The shrimp and scallops were super fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was calm and attentive. And the...atmosphere relaxed. This restaurant never disappoints. Fresh ingrediants used for all beautifully presented dishes. My favourite is the seafood crepes but scoffing bites from others’ dishes delighted my tastebuds aswell on our last visit. Service is personalized and genuine. Really enjoyed our first dinner at the Bistro. We shared the mussels appetizer and we both had the Artic Char dinner special. All very good. Service was excellent. Loved the small Bistro atmosphere. Very comfortable and friendly. Reservations recommended.
The pork tenderloin was delicious! The ambiance as always cozy and romantic despite COVID precautions with dangling plexiglass panels hanging from the ceiling to separate diners. One hold back though, the ROAST POTATOES which tasted of nothing but the oil they were cooked in. I...tried cutting them open and pushing them around my plate in the Demi glacé thinking that it would impart some flavour to them, no such luck. The potatoes were the ONLY disappointing feature on our plates. We decided that next time we will ask to sub out the potatoes. I understand that in terms of expediency ‘roast’ potatoes might be appealing, but surely scallop potatoes or something else would serve the purpose and compliment the meals being served better than oily ‘roasted’ potatoes.More

We felt welcomed, pampered and special. The food was served beautifully presented, hot and...most importantly delicious!
Our party of 3 all had the offered special of Saltspring Island mussels, followed by the Steelhead trout. The mussels were just gorgeous, but the trout was simply sublime - the sauce lifted the fish, which be insipid to heights unknown - just inspiring!
We cannot wait to return to sample what other miracles this couple can produce!
It is advisable to make a reservation especially if you have a larger group 5-6+. A couple or 3 ppl can usually walk-in without a problem but to be certain, for your special evening, call to make a reservation.
