My favourite place to eat when I am in the neighbourhood. The service is really fantastic even when they have a shortage of servers. The food is delicious and I never have to wait for them to refill my coffee. The servers are always busy...but find time to stop by and ask how is the food etc.More

Cozy, friendly diner with typical menu, quick, efficient service and one of the best burgers (the Canadian) I've had in a very long time. The sweet potato fries and crab cakes were very good too. And the draft beer.

My wife and i, together with friends, had lunch at Gary's Bistro today. The food, the service and the ambience were all extremely good, making this one of the best venues we have been in for a long, long time. Notwithstanding the number of customers,...virtually fulling the restaurant, service was efficient and fast and very friendly. While nothing can be taken away from the high quality of the food, our waitress TERESA, really was the "icing on the cake!" We don't get to QB very often but, henceforth, Gary's Bistro will be an absolute must on our itinerary. 5+/5More

There were 5 of us for breakfast on Tuesday. There was a notice that they were short of staff, asking for patience. Our server brought our coffee, delivered food to another table, took care of a departing guest at the till, & was back to...answer questions and take our orders. She was cheerful and extremely competent- she hadn’t written anything but everybody received exactly what was ordered. . All of us were impressed. It would be helpful if the various items had a written description on the menu, so the server doesn’t have to explain to each group when the place is so busy. We guessed “Good old standby”, but “Bistro Blast” didn’t mean anything .More

We stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday and found the place to be very busy, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The atmosphere is great, as it probably looks the same as it has for years. Lots of...memorabilia to take in! Sandwiches were generous and very tasty. They can even do a gluten free Rueben which was a first for us. Coffee delicious, and service from Karina attentive and professional.More

We stopped at lunch time on Friday, busy place. Plenty of locals. Service and meals were excellent. This place is easy to find and there is street parking. Cool pics of old cars on the wall. Also the side of a car mounted on the...wall. All pretty well done.More

Excellent fast and friendly service. Restaurant decor is a car guys dream—1950s diner meets comfy seating. Delicious lunch! I had the crab cakes and salad and the crab cakes are large and delicious. I asked to have them with chipotle sauce—superb!

We stopped here for a pot of tea and decided to have a bite. I ordered the chicken noodle soup. It was excellent! Best I have every had. Lots of meat, seemed like the noodles were home made as well. My husband had the blueberry...muffin! He pronounced it the best he had ever had. Too bad we live in Langley! Because this would be a lunch spot pretty much every day! And extra Kitschy is the indoors here. A big plastic bottle of Correlego is on display inside! I haven't seen that since I was in a small fishing village in Mexico. Love it!!More

We certainly enjoyed Gary’s Bistro there was one lady working and she was so quick with every table. The Bistro was busy and she handled the tables so fast with a smile. We both had Canadain Bennys was very delicious very tasty. The place has...half a old car on the wall along with a photo wall of old cars.More

What an amazing place. Staff was super nice and welcoming. Feels like an old time diner with oldies music. The beef dip was amazing and a huge portion. Seafood sandwich was super with a generous filling. Worth going menu times.

Second time I've been to this restaurant. Second time I was disappointed. Ordered the same simple breakfast meal both times - bacon and eggs. Asked for the eggs to be 'basted'. When my meal came - eggs yolks were hard (both times). Bacon was so...over-cooked that I couldn't cut it with a knife - I had to break it into pieces. I will NOT be going here again. In my books - - - two strikes and you're out.More

It was stated that breakfast is available until 2pm on Sundays, so I tried to order pancakes but didn’t even get to finish talking before she interrupted me and barked that pancakes/waffles/French toast is not available for breakfast after 1130 because it takes up too...much room on the griddle so I better find something else. Literally nothing on the menu has descriptions so you don’t know what the ingredients are in anything. I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki wrap and it was literally just lettuce with chicken coated in I’m sure a store bought bland sauce. Prices were honestly kind of high for the portions/quality of food that you get. The waitress never came back even once after we got our food to check if we wanted more drinks or to see how we were enjoying our meal. The only time she came back was when we had to flag her down for the bill. Her abrasiveness was really off putting. They don’t ask how you want your eggs done when you order a Benny which is weird? Overall was super disappointed and unimpressed with my experience. Maybe find new servers who actually care about customer experiences because she clearly didn’t care whether we were happy or not.More
