The Sandbar Cafe & Art Gallery is a unique little place, loaded with local art that's for sale. Seervice was great - they made a spot for my group of 7 on a busy Mother's Day. The menu was really a surprise, with some unique items. I had a Fanny Bay burger, made with grilled oysters, for $13.95 - it... More

Do stop here if you are near! Dinner was great - friendly and attentive service and an interesting collection of local art for sale inside. Very much a 'seaside' cafe with a "cottagey" feel. Quite busy - lots of locals having dinner. We were very happily surprised by the dinner specials - an herb baked salmon and blueberry ginger compote... More

This is our go to lunch place when we hike the Lighthouse Trail, just up the street. Great variety of food, excellent burgers, chips are especially good. Burgers allow you to have 1/2 salad, 1/2 fries as a side, a really nice touch.

We stopped for lunch enroute to Courtenay and were very glad we did. We had a scallop and bacon burger and a bowl of clam chowder and both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The scallop burger came with a green salad that was fresh and plentiful and the soup came with garlic bread. There is a good selection of items to... More

I came here for breakfast with my Dad and some of his friends. Friendly service. Basic food, no complaints other than some of the omelettes were cooked a bit. Prices are normal for the area. I would come here again.

The breakfasts are good and the service is fast. Nothing really fancy but a nice little place to eat and the waitress is a sweetheart.

If you're on Vancouver Island and would like some great home style cooking, visit Sandbar Cafe in Qualicum Bay along West Island Highway. It's a quaint little restaurant that offers ocean view patio dining. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and Julie was our waitress for the evening. Very friendly and efficient. Nice ambiance in the restaurant with... More

Basic cafe food. Marion the waitress is awesome. Friendly and kind not phoney or syrupy. The cook made a small error with our breakfast (gave us bacon instead of ham)-they made such a fuss over this, bringing out ham a couple of minutes later and didn't charge us for either. Wow. Just a nice place to be.

They have the best food and are very reasonable with prices. Go above and beyond with customer service. Called and said we would be in at 7:30 with 5 people on a Sunday evening. Said they would keep kitchen open for us. They did and were even very happy to have us at such a late hour.
