I took my mother here over the weekend for a birthday breakfast. I have never been here before, but my mother had been a few times. I do not know if they take reservations or not, but I had to wait 1h15min for a table. The place was packed. My mother told me that in the past she has had to wait between 30-45 minutes for a table. After speaking to the staff, it is busy like this all the time. They do have everything down to an art in terms of getting everyone seated and what not. They even offer free coffee and hot chocolate, which was nice on a cold day. The food itself was pretty good. I would not say it was amazing, but it certainly was not bad. A little pricey to be sure, but I guess that goes with the type of restaurant it is. The only thing my mother wished they had was the pea soup in a cup. They only have it in a bowl, which would have been too much for her to eat. The only way to get it in a cup is to get one of their meals which includes soup and dessert. Service was fast and efficient without feeling rushed. Would I go back? Sure, but I would find out if it is possible to make reservations in order to not have to wait over an hour. Driving up from Montreal, which is an hour away, I was already hungry when I arrived and having to wait over an hour to be seated, was not fun.

This is one of the best Restaurants in the Laurentian Mountains. They make their own ham and you can smell the wonderful sweetness for miles. Their food is great and they provide a lot. They have been in the same location for years. Inside, while you are enjoying your meal, you have a panoramic view of the surrounding area. If, after your meal, you wish more food, there is a take=out counter. Please try this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

We stopped in for lunch before snowmobiling. It is such a charming place! It looked like they had wonderful breakfasts, but we focused on lunch. I ordered 2 side items: meat pie and beans with smoked meat. Both were wonderful and it was plenty of food. A friend ordered the meat pie plate at it was 1/2 of a pie! Along with carrot soufflé, fries and I think slaw. It was huge. We would definitely return if in the area. Great menu and atmosphere.

The place to visit to experience local cuisine. Great for breakfast or brunch near Val Morin. Enjoyed in house maple-smoked ham, baked beans, pea soup, maple syrup pie. A local institution.

I invited my family for a happy return from my youth... Arriving the 45 minute wait disenchanted us a bit. The welcome is warm. We had a good table. We ordered plates Le feast du Petit Thumb and plates Tourtière Petit Thumb. The pea soup is delicious but served in minimal portion with the feast, the plate of the feast has far too many potatoes (which are very, very ordinary) the turnip puree and carrots good but we wondered why this puree on the plate? The ham, the tourtière, the ham beans (a little sweet) are all delicious and worthy of this institution. The maple syrup pie was good. Always impeccable service. We had asked for a container to take home a good piece (leftover) of our tourtière, when the waitress told us that it was 60 cents for the container, we were insulted to find that an addition of more than $100 does not deserve a free container... let’s say in good Quebec that it is “very cheap”. I don't know if we'll go back...

Great service and ambiance, but the food left lots to be desired. Portions came almost cold. The scrambled eggs were very dry, as was the ham. We ordered the side of home-baked bread, each of the two slices had a huge hole in them, literally half the slice. We had been looking forward to our brunch there, but not likely to return.

Located along the road linking the town of Val-David to Sainte Adèle, this establishment has a large car park suitable for the customers it attracts, particularly at breakfast. This local institution offers traditional Quebec food, renowned in the Laurentians. On site, no reservations possible, you register at reception and wait around the hearth, topped with stuffed caribou heads, or outside while enjoying the free coffee. When your name is called you will be directed to the main room with typical decoration or approximately. The service is shy but rather efficient and attentive. On the plates of local food and not compatible with a French palate. The ideal place to find out if you are gastronomically compatible with local food. For fans a pretty adjacent boutique

This morning, public holiday, bad surprise, we go to eat as a couple, 40 m later due to lack of staff, we can finally go to our table 😤, we order the trapper's plate out of habit at Petit Poucet. and there a real joke, frustrations, disappointment, and questions. I thought I was being served a plate of children's menu, the plate was really pitiful, more than a cheap street corner brunch restaurant. As if my usual and pleasant brunch so much appreciated, had gone on a drastic diet, what a disappointment ok the taste had not changed at least, but the rations were really pitiful. I felt stupid paying that much $$$ to eat if I could. Disappointed with the changes made in the quantity of plates, I want a real brunch like before, not a gourmet one lol. These have now made the renovations carried out profitable.

Beautiful rustic restaurant in the Laurentians. Avoid on weekends, too crowded and impossible to book. The lunches are excellent. The Ogre is very good. Petit Poucet's feast at $29.95, too expensive for the plate served and what's more you will have to pay if you have coffee or tea. But in terms of atmosphere, it’s fantastic. We will definitely return.

There was a bit of a wait (around 25 minutes and we arrived around 8:30 a.m.) but their indoor waiting room is very well appointed with a fireplace, benches and free coffee/hot chocolate. The decor is very unique and the dishes ideal for a family brunch. I recommend the waffles with the cream sugar 😊

Can’t say enough about this restaurant! Every time we’re in Quebec, this is a must stop. The food is the real traditional Québécois fare and is delicious. The portions are huge, too. They don’t skimp. And the Country style bread is the best toasted bread to have with their jam! Could have a meal on that alone. The service has always been excellent, as well. Always so fast, attentive and friendly. Never once had a server that didn’t have a big smile to go along with breakfast! The atmosphere is as inviting as the food. It’s has that warm rustic charm that we love and lingering by the fireplace with family after a great meal just tops off the whole experience. The small deli also sells jams, beets, baked beans, pies, etc. Basically what they serve you can also buy and take home. Suffice it to say, this is our favourite breakfast/brunch restaurant in Quebec! Highly recommend and look forward to our next visit!

Very satisfying experience with local food! It is very good and we like coming there. It is always full but the wait rarely exceeds 30 minutes or so. Great breakfast. SIMPLY Excellent and extraordinary!

We Left Montreal around noon , and it took about an hour and a bit to get there. We had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated , so in the meantime we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine . We even saw a hummingbird. I took lots of photos. Anyway eventually we were seated and ordered our food , bacon and eggs and country bread . Yummy 😋

Husband and I have been here twice. The food is so fresh and delicious. The service is lovely—charming and kind. A popular spot with a bit of a wait (maybe 30 mins for us) but well worth it. We got the eggs benedict, croque madame. Soo yummy!

We had a fantastic breakfast experience at Au Petit Poucet! It was really delicious and service was great. Place is huge inside. Very authentic and inviting. Egged Benedict with Canadian Bacon was extraordinary. Probably one of the best breakfast experience ever. We will come back this weekend. We loved it!
