Freshly prepared food, interesting, varied cuisine. Good helpful service. Fun place to eat.Very different to the average Quebec dining experience.

We went there for dinner. The sushi menu is creative and original and they are fresh. The waitress (Marine P) was really friendly and smiling, she gives good advices about the menu.
We were out walking from our hotel when we came across the restaurant. We had range of sushi and rolls and enjoyed everything. Defintely worth the visit.
Not hungry enough to have the opportunity to sample more on this fun menu offering creative sushi, we tried one of the house specialties: Sushi Pizza. These sushi are presented like pizza: a palette of fried laver seaweed/sushi rice topped with salmon and mango; another...topped with crab, avocado and tobiko. Awesome. So much more on the menu waiting to be sampled.More
I tried a lot of sushi place and this is by far my favorite discovery this year! They have great combos and creative sushi. Always made fresh and to order, its great from the first to the last bite. Its soft, moist and zingy, everything...i'm looking for in a good sushi. I love the nice and easy service and the open kitchen is fun to look at especialy during busy hours! Its a great night-out whenever i go out with my boyfriend. I give this restaurant a big fat high five!More
Not your usual sushi, but excellent unusual type sushi. Really worth a try if you are a sushi lover like we are. BUT.......be prepared for less than charming service if you have the same waitress as we had, which was the only one there serving...a full house of about 15 tables. Would we go back,,???? I'll try other sushi restaurant choices the next time we are in Rimouski. Service is such an important part of a dinning experience, I cant believe the owners have not picked up on the negative reviews.More
first things first the restaurants is nice . and the service ok . But you don't go there for the sushi you will be extremely disappointed with those .. Their small and also all taste the same . at least they have other things on...their menu that compensate for their lack of sushi making .. go elsewhere for sushi you will be glad you did ..More
First of all, I am a local. So this is not just a one-time bad experience. Their servers are just really unwelcoming, cold service. I went today (St. Valentine Day + snowstorm day), we were litteraly the only customers in the restaurant for lunch time....When I received my sushi, I noticed right away a hair in my sushi (don't know from where, could have been facial hair too, it was a short one). They asked me if I wanted the whole plate to be replaced. I said that they could just change the roll that had the hair in it, that it would be ok for the other one. While we were eating, they decided it was time to set the place up for dinner (and it was noon), so were moving around the tables by dragging them on the floor instead of lift them up, which was making horrible and loud noise (metal material on the floor, imagine the noise). They did that until the end of our lunch (they said loud they were waiting for us to leave to finish to sep up the place). When I came to pay at the main counter, I saw on the preparation counter the one pice of my sushi that had hair in it.. I then realized that they didn't change the whole sushi roll, but just the one piece that had hair in it. And not only that, but also realized that my friends (that ordered the same plate) had 2 diffrent rolls, when I had pieces of different sushis (I thought well that's nice, they made me try different sushi..) well I think that I actually got left over pieces of sushi.... So if you really feel for sushi in Rimouski, you can order from Yuzu Sushi (better price, better taste and better service!), or at Unique Sushi. Go anywhere else but not there. I am telling you, everything I am thinking well maybe it was just a bad day... you know what? not a bad day, they just really don't care! (and we did call before to show up to make sure they were open..!)More
Since Yin yan sushi announced that they offered pickups as well as sit downs, i decided to give it a try for a pickup since I was short on time. After explaining to me that they had no sushis prepared in advance,a nice woman at...the front desk politely told me that there would be a wait time to prepare my order since they had two orders to complete first. I was fine with that and was ready for a some wait time. One of the chefs joined the conversation, told me it would take AT LEAST a half hour before getting to my order. Surprised it would be that long, I calmly told them that I was unfortunately in a hurry (I had told them it was for takeout) and could not wait that much time, so I would be coming back tomorrow. The chef abruptly replied, obviously irritated that I was leaving, that he had orders to complete before mine and that he had two whole floors to make sushis for... Then, he impatiently added "you can't wait 30 minutes??!!! 20 minutes?!!", pressuring me into changing my mind. Not sure why it went down to 20min, but I suddenly didn't feel like waiting anymore. Shocked about his reaction, I simply told the front desk woman that I would come back another day and decided to leave, taking her menu for my next time, on my way out. Two hours later, I can now tell you that the menu will not be needed. Yin Yan Sushi might make great sushis but I do not want to find out anymore. No matter how good the food is, a place that shows undeserved rudeness to their (soon to be) customers or shows frustration when things do not go their way will never get my money. Had I had time to wait at least a half hour for a takeout, chances are that I would have asked for a table and sit down instead. But it seems that the chef could not understand my hurry for tonight. Maybe the chef had a stressful night, or too many customers at the same time, or even a bad experience with a previous customer, I don't know. Hopefully, Yin Yan will read my comment and try to keep his cool next time. There are tons of great sushi places in Rimouski. If Yin Yan can't behave in a professional maner, other places will be happy to have our business.More
