Wonderful food & ambiance, reasonably priced. We ordered the Table d’hôtel: half chicken & beef shank. Both weee done perfectly and generous portions. Mussels as the starter were flavourful. Service excellent. I wish I had bought some of the peri-peri sauce to take home!
Had the reasonably priced 3 course “table d hôte”. Food was excellent, service friendly, restaurant is spotless with pleasant decor. Will return for sure. Their takeout service seems very popular. Overheard customer saying their piri piri chicken was the best by far. Great for couples...but families are welcome.More

Poorly trained servers, long wait, food was nothing special. Took the meat plater, porc chop dry overcooked, chicken had good flavour but dry, beef was just a big peice if fat so can't realy tell what it taste like, dry sausage, .Other guest had lobster,...was chewy and overcooked, Don;t be fooled by the desert menu presentation or taste, it is not at all what is presented. Once came time to pay, was told debit machine did not work and we were told we can leave our credit card number and he will bil it later like WTF.....Had to run to ATM for cash. would not return or recomend.More
Agree with all previous reviews: high quality authentic Portuguese cuisine and presentation, excellent food and attentive service. Great variety of fish and seafood, all prepared simply but delicious. The owner suggested we try thr calamari stuffed with chorizo as an appetizer, which was divine, and...for some reason not listed on the menu, so do ask for it.. And very reasonable prices for the quality! Will certainly return. Congratulations to the ownwr, the chef and the serving staff.More

Brought my 85 year old mother to this restaurant (first time for all) to celebrate her 85th birthday . the menu is centered on the preparation of food the Portuguese way & no one in our party of 4 was disappointed. There is a good...selection of foods prepared with piri-piri sauce but for those who do to want to eat spicy there are alternatives . One of the best meals I have had in the Gatineau area & surprisingly reasonably priced for a party of 4 with wine & port included . I recommended it to all of my family for a great meal & a great atmosphere .More

Excellent place!! We enjoyed everything we ordered - seafood, bacalao, chorizo, etc.- everything deliciously cooked and served. Can't wait to go again! The service was great too, and desserts super-yummy (natas, coffee cake).

I was a little surprised to see that the menu at this restaurant offers no vegetarian appetizers or main meals. My friends ordered chicken piri piri which they loved however I just had a salad which although delicious had an enormous amount of salad dressing...so there is was a lot of oil left on my plate. Be sure to order your dressing on the side. Fries were over cooked. Desserts were delicious. Had I not eaten deserts, I would have left hungry. That said, my meat eaters friends loved their fish and chicken meals.More

This place reminds me of my dining experience in Portugal. We ordered a seafood cataplana and peri peri demi chicken. Seafood cataplana very fresh and retained a lot of seafood flavour and the chicken is very tender, juicy and savoury, not overly dry. This place...is on my list when I visit Gatineau again.More

This is our first time eating real Portuguese food. The dining section was small but the staff were very friendly, trying their best to explain the different things on their menu in English to us. We liked the inexpensive house red wine. Everything is so...delicious and portion is generous! Price is very reasonable. You must try the seafood and fish mix (Misto de peixe e marisco). It is out of this world. We will be back.More
Small place close to the shopping malls in Gatineau. Authentic Portuguese food as you can find in Portugal (fish, Piri-Piri, Chorizo...) Prices are more than fair for quality and size of plate are huge. Great service.

If not for the open space in front of the restaurant, this place is very small. Maybe take out order is its main business. A table is hurriedly set up for our group. Obviously there was not enough waiter working on a Saturday evening. It...took a longer than normal for the food to com, but the waiting was compensated by the good quality food. Of course we tried their famous grilled chicken, but the surprise was the pork chop. The thick cut was soft and tasty. Food is reasonably priced, though the choice is not much.More

Everything written on TA about this place is spot on. There is no direct parking but for the shipping mall across the street. The entrance is unassuming inconspicuous and uninspiring. Once you get past this, you will be overwhelmed by the friendliness, the menu and...the taste of the food. Authentic, tasty, spicy Piri Piri chicken, great fries, salad, fish dishes. Odd location but really convivial family run resto. The manager could not have been nicer, Saturday evening he was full but managed to find us a table anyway. Piri-piri chicken was amazing. Looking forward to listening to more Fado music as a result.
