We came here, several occasions, lunch, drinks and dinner. The smoked meats and lamb shank were amazing, best creme brûlée and delicious pasta! Cocktails fun, but the selection of local B.C craft beer was a highlight. The vibe and service excellent!

Ordered beet salad, the spinach was clearly on its way out, the pecans were globbed together with big chunks of crystallized sugar, lacked seasoning, couldn't finish it because it was terrible. The only thing positive I can say about this place is that the wait staff are nice.

Wow, this place has gone downhill. The waitresses were lovely but the food was just awful. Ordered the soup of the day which was burnt, sent it back immediately. Opted for the salad instead which had no flavour and old, slimy greens. Little effort has been made to improve since reopening without the bakery. Prices have increased, so now not... More

Great value, friendly service & superb food. Chicken breast was superb. Wine list eclectic. Tasteful decor. Fabulous to sit & watch snow fall! Thank you so much - hardly any hardcore carbs on menu!

It's a Full bar now. Bakery is gone. The chef who knew the recipe for gluten free pizza was not working that day. No more Lemon Polenta cake either. So those are just a couple of things that really stood out at me, yet if Robert Irvine walked into that restaurant the staff itself would get a failing grade for... More

Have been at this restaurant many times. The one consistent attribute is the pizza is very good! However, beware if you order a pasta dish!! I've never seen such small portions - very SMALL! And really, how much extra does it cost to add a few more grams of pasta? My son ordered it last night and we both looked... More

We had been here before and were looking forward to a meal with our family. This time we were disappointed with the food and service. Altho promoted as offering a 10% discout in our rental property, this was not honoured. Altho they said there woul be gluten free options at the time we reserved, there were none (they had run out.....).... More

Good food, used to be a decent price but they have raised prices after some renos, now not so sure. Affordable breakfast always offered at the bagel shop down the street.

This is a very nice little restaurant, cosy setting, good menu. Pizzas are a staple, and very good Italian-style. Lots of other things on the menu to tempt most.

Good choice of breads and baking but we did not have a great dinner experience. I have eaten there a few times and frequently buy their bread products which are very good. Soups and lunch selections are decent.

The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner's cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie's Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. "Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that's exactly what we're aiming to do at The Loaf."
