Food was amazing. Waitress was great too. Until the end where she seemed in unimpressed with her tip and made a passive aggressive comment. Didn’t appreciate that and made the experience less enjoyable.
Found this hidden gem in Fernie and highly recommend for a great tapas experience. The service and food are exceptional. Mussels, halloumi skewer and King Oyster Mushrooms were perfectly portioned and delicious. Make sure to go early as it filled up quickly.
Checked this spot out today. Service was good, they had some tasty beers on tap (try backhand of God). We tried the pescado, pollo and Cali burritos which were all excellent, but could have used a bit less of the cabbage (we all found it...a bit overpowering) and more protein. Nicely put together and grilled. We also had the nacho fries which I wouldn't order again as they were shy on toppings/sauce. Still a 5 star visit!More
We were travelling through Fernie and were looking for a spot for a light meal. Saw Navado (Luchadora) on the web and decided to check it out. The burritos were so tasty, the hot sauce was an extra $2 but it provided an extra level...of heat, and the mango margherita was delish. Just loved the outdoor patio - very unique.More
Open for the late lunch n Dinner crowd ( 1-9) .... we were there on a gorgeous evening. Seat yourself outside at well distanced tables that could easily accommodate 6. Place your order at the window n get called when your drinks and Then order...is ready... Burritos were huge, hot and given in a large brown bag ready for take out if you wish... or sit at an available table. Battered fries were also super yummy. Doing a good job in these unsettling times. ... keeping this fantastic restaurant going.More
First the good - the burrito was awesome.
Now, the not so good.
Sure, the Covid BS is causing grief for everyone and especially the hospitality industry but...
1. the welcoming staff at the restaurant aren't all that welcoming; the guy that welcomed us showed...zero effort with accommodating us as we passed through. No table available so you can come back later if you like but don't expect anything; wouldn't hold a place for us while we walked around or anything. The others (like a lot of the area restaurant workers (not really enjoying their jobs);
2. while the margarita was good - I don't think it had 1/2 of what you'd expect in terms of tequila so therefore the price for what you get is high
3. the menu is very limited; a variety of burritos and some friesMore
We were visiting from out of town for my birthday. The hostess was snobby when we walked in and it was clearly busy. She told us originally it would be a two hour wait. This was at 6pm. We thought whatever we could walk around...town until. We kept checking in and sitting in for 20 minutes at a time to see if maybe there was a chance that would come up. There was MULTIPLE 4somes that just walked in and she sat right away. Since we were only a twosome, she wouldn’t seat us. Even though we were on the list for hours. We ended up grabbing a bit to eat somewhere else. We went in at about 9 (still never received a call telling us our table was ready) out of curiosity. You know what she tells us? That they’re closing and she’s really sorry that she won’t be able to set us.
The worst hostess.More
This is true find - A great tequila & mezcal bar and delicious tapas restaurant in a beautifully restored building unexpectedly in the middle of picturesque & historic Fernie. Waited at the bar having a flight of tequila and great cocktails -the best Pisco Sour...north of Peru - the food was equally excellent - A delight!More
We live in Toronto and travel the world and trying different restaurants . We have visited Navados 3 times and each time this place has impressed us beyond expectations.The colours and beautiful food presentation do justice to the incredibly rich flavours that follow. The service...is exceptional. For dessert make sure you try the Tres Leches cake. It’s beyond incredible! We are convinced that Nevada’s is better than any South American restaurant in Toronto. Five stars!!!More
