We enjoyed dinner here on our recent visit to Lunenburg. We were most impressed with the food, the service and the wide variety of patrons, young and old. From the outside it was hard to tell if it was even open. Inside it was packed....We initially sat at the bar but they quickly moved us to a table when one became available. Would definitely recommend a drink or dinner (better yet both!), here.More
Visited Lunenburg in Sep 2022 with my daughters and sister to celebrate my 60th birthday. We heard about the Knot Pub from a friend so decided to walk over to join the Friday night karaoke. One of the best times we've ever had. As we...sang karaoke I think the entire pub sang along. At one point the entire pub sang some local east coast song which made our experience magical. If you want an authentic pub atmosphere walking distance from the centre then this is the place to go. I can't comment on the food as we just sang and drank but the service was amazing and the atmosphere authentic!More
TrGreat place with great ambience. Waitress was friendly and super efficient. Excellent selection of local ciders and beers. I had the unique Lunenburg sausage burger: big patty of local sausage with good course mustard and onions. Fantastic! Wife had fish and chips. Haddock was perfectly...cooked and fries were terrific. Since we moved to Nova Scotia we have made it our mission to find the best fish and chips...although we have had some good ones....this place was the best . The atmosphere and happy staff makes it now our favorite go to spot

I have been to Lunenburg a few times over the years and once I was introduced to The Knot Pub and its homemade mussel soup I was hooked. Whenever I am close (within 2 hours LOL) I come for another bowl of pure heaven. I...brought a friend with me that was visiting also and with no convincing had her order the soup also. We only got the cup size as a patron beside us highly recommended the caesar salad which is their go to. We shared one and it was great! I have tried a few other things on the menu as have friends and never been disappointed. When I get into Lunenburg I am nervous that maybe this time it is gone but NOPE! It is always busy with folks coming and going but your wait, if you have one, is always worth it.More
Our Airbnb hosts recommended this pub and glad they did. It was very busy but food was excellent and worth the wait. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area
There should be some way for the elderly and handicapped to wait on property for a table. This was a favorite place of mine when I was young but the aggressive refusal to help with people who can no longer stand put us off and...we won't be going back. Enjoy it while you are young and healthy.More
If you are visiting Lunenburg you must stop at this pub! The front looks like a fairytale. You open the door and wow, the pub is fantastic. Good food and drinks, live music. Just Pure Fun! And a nice little walk back to the waterfront...hotels.More
Excellent service. Food was great. Would definitely recommend this spot. Closer to the residential area so that may have been why we had no wait for a table. Only about 5-10 minutes walk from the busy restaurant street area.
this place is busy. parking is in the rear. We went at luchtime and the place was full of both locals and travellers. The outside patio is the best but inside is filled with atmosphere. it is worth going to.
Great location with a very "English Pub" feel. Food took a bit longer than hoped for, but that was to be expected as the place was packed. Awesome environment and friendly staff. You can't go wrong having some local Bulwark cider.
I had the haddock with caesar salad, the salad was brown, fish was over cooked, I had food poisoning, for two days, we only visited Lunenburg, regret going there, never again. It was noisy, and the service was not professional, no toilet paper in the...bathroom, I reported this and they did nothing about it, very disappointed.More
We recently visited Lunenburg (May 20/21, 2022) and were also there in October 2021. Our time at The Knot was a highlight both times. Why? Well my husband and I love going to pubs in the UK and The Knot is by far the closest...thing we have experienced to a quintessential English pub outside of England. You don’t normally get this kind of truly historic pub in Canada and that’s what makes The Knot so special. The staff were always friendly and professional. They work so hard! We never had to wait long for a drink or food. And the food is amazing!! The fish tacos are my favourite but the classic fish and chips is a close second. Also the ceasar salad is fantastic too. Good portions and very reasonably priced. Good selection of drinks and beer. My husband enjoyed the Hell Bay English ale the most. They often have live music too! Some nights are more busy than others but each time we met new people and had a great time.More
I ordered take out . I ordered the salmon burger with a side salad. It was 2.50 more for the salad but it was large salad and the salmon burger was great and the salad was ok. I didn't expect it to have cheese on...it . I asked for balsamic dressing but got balsamic vinegar.It came to $20.00 which is a little pricy but it was very tasty. I did not realize that they charge .45 cents plus tax for a take out container. I guess they are not the only restaurant that does that. When in this area I would order from them again.More
