Best meal we have had in five days. Small family owned restaurant with unique food but good home cooking. This is where the local go, you won’t be disappointed!

An unparalleled dining experience (we did take-out to eat on the balcony of our motel overlooking the Creston Valley; gorgeous!). The best spaghetti and meatballs I've ever had, including my own. My partner had the chicken curry bowl and it was reportedly fabulous. A shared...sticky toffee pudding had us wishing we'd each ordered our own (if we'd had room....) The staff members preparing our order were efficient, pleasant and friendly and gave us a great recommendation for breakfast the next morning.More

The wife and I stayed in Creston while visiting family around the area and decided to go for supper one night. Almost all the other restaurants were closed and we ended up finding this hidden gem called the Real Food Cafe. Wife went it to...the store and it was the place to be! Staff were super funny and nice and the food tasted amazing. It is not my restaurant of choice when visiting Creston and if you haven’t tried the food here yet, you are really missing out! 5/5!More

Had a reservation for 5:30 pm and was advised by the server that they were out of one special and only had one serving of the other special. left That too was gone by the time she came back to take our order. She also...informed us they were out of steak, for the visit in a row. The spaghetti and meat balls are usually pretty good with very large meatballs, but it looked like they had run out so they made the same number of meatballs but 1/2 the normal size and they were very overcooked. Tried the Gnocchi because it was the only thing they had left I thought I'd like. They were disgusting. Looked like they had been squeezed out of a caulking gun and they were very undercooked, if they were cooked at all. We are done with this place! With such a small selection of restaurants I guess this places will survive, but only because of lack of competition. Can't wait until the border opens so we can get to some good restaurants.More

I would have given a higher rating for the above reasons except that servers were not wearing masks. With the Covid virus transmitted through breath and with servers standing facing seated customers, it is a small inconvenience for staff to be masked on the job....Tables were spread out so customers were socially distant.More

The last 3 times we have been there, the owners have,nt been. As one of them is the cook, this could account for the disappointing meal, last time around. I had ordered the steak, paying extra for blue cheese and mushrooms. The steak turned out to be...real stringy and tough, and the extras almost nonexistant. The potatoes are roasted then cubed and never better than a 5/10. This time they were real dry. Later I had said to my wife I had,nt been happy with the meal and she agreed that her lamb shank was tough and not quite the right colour.( whatever the right colour is ) The time before this I had wanted the Salmon, and asked the server what kind of salmon was it, wild or farmed, atlantic or pacific, She asked in the kitchen and came back and told us, they didnt know ??. Going by that i ordered the steak, which was excellent. We wont be back for a while, but when we decide to try again I think i will ring first and ask what night the owners are on.More

CAUTION!!!!!!DO NOT BE FOOLED BY RATINGS. WE saw mouse droppings tables are sticky!!!! This is the most disgusting experience ive ever had. These guys have to be having people pump their ratings. The food was disgusting. The young girls serving were a disaster and gossipy....Out of 2 dishes and 2 appetizers, my wife half ate what translates to Chinese food type prawns in batter. It was disgusting. We received nothing else, did not eat two main entries nor at the other appetizer after 45 minutes waiting We paid the bill without the food and ran out. Wow, if you have a free lunch hour during Monday to Friday, you better hoof it down to the Real Food Cafe from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. They have a $15.00 inclusive deal. I chose the blackened chicken wrap (and from previous experience, I...had them pre-wrap half of it for me to take home because the meal is filling. It was delicious. Love the spicing! I chose their homemade berry lemonade. ( their coffee is also delicious but I had plenty of coffee at home earlier that a.m.). I chose fries for the side and they were crispy perfect. Finally, the dessert you get with it is a large homemade cookie (oatmeal/raisin? ) decorated with a touch of cinnamon/sugar to make it look fancy. It was incredible. So, the entrees are from a choice of about 5 or six and there is a veggie burger also. You can get gluten free buns for $1.50 extra. Now, if you want anything different on the menu then you are paying their regular pricing. I just have to say, this $15.00 deal is the best in town. Taxes not included.More
