A wonderful find! We were referred here by a hotel clerk who said it had good food but emphasis that it was a "cafe," not a fine dining restaurant. We went expecting general family-type fare and were surprised to see a menu full of creative...takes and anything but standard. There were four of us and we had a couple applies, borscht, daily specials (a pork and chicken noodle dish) and curry bowl. It was all delicious, easily a few notches above everyday "cafe" food! Service was friendly and efficient and the prices were very reasonable. We will go again when I'm the area. Service wasMore

I've eaten at this cafe every time I'm in Creston. I'm never disappointed. Food is always delicious and the service is great. Our sever this evening was Victoria and she was very nice and welcoming. She went out of her way to use our names...which was a nice personal touch. She described the specials of the day in a way that made you want to try them all. I will definitely be back again the next time I'm in town. I would recommend calling early for a reservation . They are a very popular spot to eat.More

We were travelling from Banff to Nelson (a long way) and Creston seemed like a good place for lunch. The reviews of the Real Food Cafe were good so we stopped off and were so glad we did. The food was freshly made and excellent;...and the service was prompt and friendly. The cafe had a great atmosphere and it was clearly popular with the locals - always a good sign.More

Good food and local. Has accessibility for anyone with a disability. Friendly staff and service. Opens at 11 and closes mid afternoon to prep for dinner. Something to watch for if you're not aware

Cramped seating in a small room with 23 other people with poor ventilation. Felt cramped. The special was I believe an Indian Tikka dish with meatballs, and not of the lamb variety. Hmmm. Dish was watery, likely from the tomatoes that were in the dish....Serving staff were pleasant and this is why it’s getting an average rating, but I would personally not return.More

Delighted with our meal this even I g. We were visiting with our daughter. Initially there were no tables...We had not booked. However , within minutes arrangements were made & we enjoyed an excellent meal. Staff were very friendly & food came quickly. If we...lived closer we would be regulars but we come from England...highly recommend.More

Referred by Ramada hotel front end staff. Excellent recommendation. We could feel the positive vibe the minute we walked in. Very cordial friendly staff. Excellent meals. I doubt we will drive through Creston without stopping in the future. Yes. It’s that good.

Best meal we have had in five days. Small family owned restaurant with unique food but good home cooking. This is where the local go, you won’t be disappointed!

An unparalleled dining experience (we did take-out to eat on the balcony of our motel overlooking the Creston Valley; gorgeous!). The best spaghetti and meatballs I've ever had, including my own. My partner had the chicken curry bowl and it was reportedly fabulous. A shared...sticky toffee pudding had us wishing we'd each ordered our own (if we'd had room....) The staff members preparing our order were efficient, pleasant and friendly and gave us a great recommendation for breakfast the next morning.More

The wife and I stayed in Creston while visiting family around the area and decided to go for supper one night. Almost all the other restaurants were closed and we ended up finding this hidden gem called the Real Food Cafe. Wife went it to...the store and it was the place to be! Staff were super funny and nice and the food tasted amazing. It is not my restaurant of choice when visiting Creston and if you haven’t tried the food here yet, you are really missing out! 5/5!More

Had a reservation for 5:30 pm and was advised by the server that they were out of one special and only had one serving of the other special. left That too was gone by the time she came back to take our order. She also...informed us they were out of steak, for the visit in a row. The spaghetti and meat balls are usually pretty good with very large meatballs, but it looked like they had run out so they made the same number of meatballs but 1/2 the normal size and they were very overcooked. Tried the Gnocchi because it was the only thing they had left I thought I'd like. They were disgusting. Looked like they had been squeezed out of a caulking gun and they were very undercooked, if they were cooked at all. We are done with this place! With such a small selection of restaurants I guess this places will survive, but only because of lack of competition. Can't wait until the border opens so we can get to some good restaurants.More

I would have given a higher rating for the above reasons except that servers were not wearing masks. With the Covid virus transmitted through breath and with servers standing facing seated customers, it is a small inconvenience for staff to be masked on the job....Tables were spread out so customers were socially distant.More

The last 3 times we have been there, the owners have,nt been. As one of them is the cook, this could account for the disappointing meal, last time around. I had ordered the steak, paying extra for blue cheese and mushrooms. The steak turned out to be...real stringy and tough, and the extras almost nonexistant. The potatoes are roasted then cubed and never better than a 5/10. This time they were real dry. Later I had said to my wife I had,nt been happy with the meal and she agreed that her lamb shank was tough and not quite the right colour.( whatever the right colour is ) The time before this I had wanted the Salmon, and asked the server what kind of salmon was it, wild or farmed, atlantic or pacific, She asked in the kitchen and came back and told us, they didnt know ??. Going by that i ordered the steak, which was excellent. We wont be back for a while, but when we decide to try again I think i will ring first and ask what night the owners are on.More

CAUTION!!!!!!DO NOT BE FOOLED BY RATINGS. WE saw mouse droppings tables are sticky!!!! This is the most disgusting experience ive ever had. These guys have to be having people pump their ratings. The food was disgusting. The young girls serving were a disaster and gossipy....Out of 2 dishes and 2 appetizers, my wife half ate what translates to Chinese food type prawns in batter. It was disgusting. We received nothing else, did not eat two main entries nor at the other appetizer after 45 minutes waiting We paid the bill without the food and ran out.
