We only had coffee and a 'bun' as a mid morning snack before we looked at the exhibition. It was average and the bun was very sweet - as with a lot of Canadian food. The experience did not encourage use to stay for lunch. It is quite a sparse cafeteria with basic furniture. It is clean and tables can be moved for larger groups. The style is that you order your food, pay for it and then collect it when it is ready. Buffalo hotpot looked a favourite.

The buffalo stew was delicious and hot. My husband had never had buffalo meat and he really liked it.

We only had the standard meals ie soup and chicken and chips but you can also get bison meals. Standard food which was good and edible without being fantastic. Service was quick and friendly but was a quiet day.

We had a buffalo burger with fries. Everything was served hot and tasted good. This is a cafe style restaurant so you order and pay, find a table and pick up your food when it is ready. They had some food specials that sounded good including some traditional dishes.

After visiting the center and all it had to offer, decided to have a bite before hitting the highway. Had the bison stew with bannock. Absolutely delicious. Kids loved it as well. Good portions but price was a little steep.

Really nice and friendly staff, wonderful food - would you expect that in a cafeteria? I was surprised by the extraordinary taste of the buffalo chili and the best poutine I had in the whole of Alberta!

This is what you expect from a cafeteria. It was not great but if you brought no food and spend a couple hours at the museum you are glad it is here.

I love bison stew, bannock, all country food. But a world class heritage site can do better than frozen vegetables (not even fully unfrozen!) on microwave rice. The bannock was ok and the bison meat was good. But the rest was terrible. As much as I don't want to say it, I must: bring your own food when you visit this amazing site.

We visited on a Sunday as part of a tour bus around noon. By the time we had gone to see the cliff and then watch the film on the buffalo jump, we went to the cafe for a late lunch. The menu is rather basic. We thought we would have to try something buffalo but there was only buffalo chili left, with no stew available. The veggie plate with rice, one of two vegetarian alternatives was also out. The rest of the menu was burgers, fries and other not very healthy alternatives. There was a lot of plastic around too. Shame. It would have been nice to see a plastic free environment with a fresh healthy food menu, exp on this environment of conservation and care for wildlife. Perhaos something management could think about for the future?

We had lunch there and it was great! Their bison stew and bannock was to die for. Price was reasonable. Responsive to allergy questions. Overall a menu that has something for everyone. Highly recommended!

Tried the buffalo stew which was overpriced and not very flavorful. It was recommended and lots of people were eating it but I was very disappointed

If you are starving, and do not care what you put in your stomach, this is the place. You will not get sick, but you will pack on the pounds.
