Based on a recommendation, we decided to try out this barbecue joint in Clearwater. It’s in a log cabin up a dark road. Upon entering, we were offered a taster of one of the local beers, which my wife liked, and ordered. I went for...the Caesar special, which came with a smoked rib and various accoutrements… basically, it was an appetizer. The food was excellent, the service was professional and friendly, and all COVD protocols were followedMore

We were camping in Clearwater for holidays and decided to check out the Hop N Hog. It was amazing food and service all around. Excellent job during Covid. Special shout out to the boy who was our host who seated us. What an amazing, polite,...hard working and respectful kid! We will go again whenever we are back.More

Even with the limited seating due to Covid, did not have to wait too long in line. We were seated outside on the patio which quickly cooled off (the heaters were present but not on yet). The food was fantastic.....great barbecue! The staff were very...pleasant and friendly.More

This was our first restaurant meal out since Mar 2020 due to Covid. We were very nervous. Staff were well prepared and pleasant with masks, table spacing, people flow and sanitizer cleaning. We felt very comfortable here and the meal was superb.

We stopped in on Thursday (17 September). The service was great all around and the smoked meat platter for 2 that we had was delicious and large: best smoked / barbecue meat we have had anywhere. Additionally, there was a great selection of craft beers...on tap ('flights' available) and our waitress Tighe was knowledgeable about all available. My wife had a Caesar and it was very good. This restaurant is also pet friendly. Highly recommended.More

After hiking the rim trail to Helmcken Falls our group of 4 was ready for some grub, and Hop n Hog was a great was to end the day. We arrived about 8 pm and while things appeared to be thinning out we still needed...to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Thanks to COVID we would have preferred an outside table but had to settle for inside, but table use was spaced out widely and all was good. Service was quick and friendly, just like it should be. My wife and I ordered the pulled pork mac n cheese and a smoked combo plate with brisket and chicken, to share. The combo plate was delicious, but we found the mac n cheese a little lacking. Maybe on it's own it would have been fine, but when competing with the smoked meat flavors it came up short. Not bad, but not 'jump off the plate' goodness either. Next time I will pass on the mac n cheese and pick something else. Prices seemed a bit higher than I expected ($22 and $32 for the mains) but this is good food in the middle of nowhere with a short season, so probably not out of line.More

We dined here based on other recommendations and weren't disappointed. The burgers were messy but delicious and the beverage list was extensive.

I’ve eaten here twice, this time for takeout. It’s good for Clearwater, but the food isn’t out of this world. I had the Sausage which tasted good, but only included two medium-sized sausages which did not fill me up—not worth the $25+ price tag. It...also included beans, corn bread, sauce, and an average-tasting potato salad. My father felt off after his beef brisket burger. The takeout containers aren’t very nice (aluminum), and I remember when I dined in before, one of the meals was served on an aluminum tray—not great. The pulled pork tacos (which we had both times) were also overpriced, and is worse than something we could make at home. Last time it was very fatty. The atmosphere is great, with a wonderful lawn seating area though. In short, the food is good for Clearwater, but not worth the price at all—you can get something that tastes better, costs less, and is more filling from a Cactus Club or Earls (although there aren’t any in Clearwater). It’s why I’m giving it 3 stars—average.More

Not 100% sure, but pretty sure dogs outside is not an issue. You will just have to check.
