Beautiful setting overlooking the lake and delicious food especially easy to accommodate my gluten and egg allergies too. I would highly recommend this restaurant and it has beautiful local artwork on display and for sale too. Rhubarb is a little gem in cottage country. We were searching for a nice restaurant in the area to celebrate a birthday occasion. We also all like good food with local ingredients and / or unusual recipes. When you walk into the restaurant there is...a lovely view overlooking the lake in the back. The restaurant furnishings are modern. There is a screened patio option at the front of the restaurant. We shared an appetizer, duck poutine which was ver tasty and large. A good choice if you are hungry. Other menu items eaten were the peach/blueberry/goat cheese salad- good appetizer with local fruit, the trout BLT - very large size with fries and salad, the falafel cauliflower bowl which was a hit with everyone at the table (good for vegetarians), and the pork schnitzel. The portions were good sizes or large. All of the food was tasty. Service was excellent. It is, however, expensive for the area. We paid $150 for four dishes and a shared appetizer including tax and tip. Yet, I see this translated in the quality of the food and surroundings. It is worth a stop if you like good food.More

The unassuming curb appeal hides a secret gem. Upon entering the restaurant we were thrilled with the atmosphere and relaxing views. The service was on point and the food was all delicious. We were thankful that we skipped lunch so that we had space for...appetizers, mains and dessert. The wine list is extensive and the menu prices are low given the quality of the dishes and ambiance. The menu is wonderful. There are lots of choices for food sensitivities. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff knew what was in each dish. YUM

We’ve been past a couple of times and tonight dropped in. Very disappointing, menu looked and read well, my husband and I ordered the chicken pot pie $24, my son ordered the burger $22 and asked for fries as he can’t eat salad due to...allergies. The pot pie arrived, very sad looking with a very basic salad of leaves, certainly not worth $24, the burger arrived with salad, with apologies they went off and got a bowl of over cooked thin fries leaving the salad on his plate. Would not eat here again, bill was $112!More

Unfortunately, we've been disappointed the last two times we had lunch at Rhubarb's (been there many times over the years). At our last visit, both my husband and I ordered the seafood crepes which were on that Sunday brunch menu - sorry to say that...the meal was not great. The seafood was quite tasteless and dry, there was no sauce of any kind, and, curiously, the shrimp that were inside the crepes still had tails on them - we thought that was very weird them being inside mixed with the tiny scallops and some crab meat. The previous visit, we had pickerel and chips and the fish came in a few small pieces - have never had fish and chips like it, there wasn't much of it. We've always been happy to eat at Rhubarb before but it just doesn't seem up to the usual standards any more.More

It was a cold afternoon of February. My group and I just went for a long snowshoe trek in the region. We were starving. Rhubarb seemed like the perfect place to get a warm comfort meal. As soon as I entered in the restaurant I...was stunned by the impressive décor: a fancy farmhouse design, with breathtaking views over the lake, and a faboulous Bird of Paradise plant which elevated the design. Unfortunately, this seemed to be a façade. Once I looked at the details, i saw the cracks in that façade. And ultimately, for me, those cracks made the whole castle crumble. We started our meal with a cheese plate. It was delicious. A selection of 3 cheeses was beautifully placed on a colorful plate, assorted with delicious nuts, crostinis, fruits, and honey. My friend even said this was probably “one of the best cheese plate [she has] ever had.” This got me excited for the rest of the meal. It was disappointing to say the least. I started with an onion soup. Although the broth was delicious, the soup seriously underdelivered on the amount of mozzarella. An onion soup should be broiled, golden and covered in cheese. Mine only had a small slice of what looked like processed cheese. Then, my main course: a poutine with duck confit. A dish that promised a lot. The execution was poor for 3 reasons. First, the chef should add salt to the fries. I have rarely tasted french fries that were so tasteless. Second, the poutine did not have enough gravy on. The poutine was dry. Even after asking for an extra portion of gravy, my poutine remained fairly tasteless. Third, there was not enough cheese on it. I would not recommend the poutine at Rhubarbs. Other members of our group were similarly disappointed with the “Impossible Burger”. The burger was unsalted, dry, and served with no condiments. The patty was burned and had a chemical taste to it. It tasted “really weird.” I would recommend that the restaurant changes its current policy of serving this burger without condiments. We were able to obtain ketchup and aïoli, however that was only once we, the customer, requested it. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our beers at Rhubarb, my friend found the pot au feu delicious, and the customer service by our server was excellent. Unfortunately, we will not be returning at Rhubarb.More

Great to have Rhubarb open again!! Dinner last night sea food lasagna with arugula salad was excellent. Welcoming and great service...as usual. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely ‘rustic’ restaurant and excellent food choices. Dining room staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful. Food and drinks arrived without much delay. Meals were served hot and fresh and absolutely delicious. Prices for meals were reasonable, but wine bottles were very expensive. Several options available...for local craft beer. There is also a small store area for take-home items. Bathrooms were clean and tidy. COVID safety measures were in place and strictly followed. Definitely worth the drive to get there!More

This restaurant is a wonderful gem in the area. Make sure to have a reservation so you won't be disappointed! Food was very tasty, service was good and the view of the lake was perfect! Definitely recommend and will return when in the area.

We have been to restaurants all over the world. Rhubarb is an out of the park extraordinary restaurant. Great service amazing food. 3 very diverse plates each special in their own way. The fresh bread and hummus app was a great start. Well worth the...trip to Halliburton. We’ll be backMore
