We were shopping in Sussex and decided to return to Knocks Cafe for a meal. We sat outside in the renovated pods. The heat was on and it was amazing. The 2 meals were delicious and the staff was wonderful as usual. Sitting outside in...the winter and being comfortable is something else. Special thanks to Debbie for looking after us. We will be back soon. Kev & ShellMore

Had a most enjoyable lunch here with a friend. Sussex is such a lovely small town with murals, covered bridges, and lots of country charm. Part of the charm for decades has been a restaurant in this old building which also doubles as an art...gallery. Knocks Cafe occupies the space now and it did not disappoint. Lots of colour inside brightened a dreary day outside. Covid protocols were all in place and service was timely and friendly. My friend and I each had an entree and a specialty coffee and I had dessert; all were delicious! My only complaint, and it was a small one, was I was seated right next to the speaker for music (literally right next to my ear) and at first I couldn’t even hear my friend across the table. Our server quickly showed me how to turn it down which I did but twice someone else turned it up remotely. I always feel that music is not a necessity when dining as people want to chat but if it is used it needs to be BACKGROUND music... way in the background and definitely not right next to someone’s seat. Like I said, it is a small complaint and something I was easily able to control and would in no way prevent me from a return visit which I certainly look forward to. Also, the outside deck was very inviting; it was just way too chilly in late October to sit outside. Another time...More

The place was crowded, and we were relegated to a rather small outdoor booth with really uncomfortable bench seats. We ordered food, and I am pretty sure our server forgot our order. 45 minutes later, our lunch arrived. The "Kettle chips" were Lay's potato chips....The sandwiches were good, but not worth the extended wait. Disappointing and uncomfortable.More

We shared a snack plate, had some paninis and soups which were delicious and hit the spot. Loved that there were vegetarian options available. Love the relaxed atmosphere of the place and the character, unique art. Would recommend.

We were driving through Sussex and wanted to stop for a bite to eat and found this spot. It’s very nice inside and has an outdoor patio right on the street to enjoy. The food and service were both very good. We had an amazing...chocolate cake for dessert that I would go back again to get.More

Three of us had a nice lunch on the outdoor patio. The service was quick and the food was fresh. The iced coffees were perfect. It's in a picturesque part of town; a lovely area to while away and hour or two. Highly recommend.

This cafe is the perfect place to stop while travelling to Saint John or Saint Stephen’s. Or even back to Antigonish! As I was. I had the good fortune to eat there twice! Everything is delicious! Hope to stop again!

The wife and I decided to have a little staycation and have dinner in our beautiful little town. We walked in to the place being packed! So many people enjoying the art on the walls and the flower making. They were more than accommodating for...us as they even pulled out another table for us to sit at. I had the burger week burger, sweet, spicy and savoury all wrapped up in one. She had the bacon apple cheddar salad. A classic combo of apples and cheese. A definite great spot to check out if you are here.More

Tiny but cute all-women run cafe that won the new business of the year award, attached to a small but cool art gallery literally in the middle of town. Indoor or outdoor seating available. Good but not great food overall, everything is homemade somehow in...that tiny kitchen, check out the typical 4 burner stove they use when you walk to/from the washroom. Great soups! Beers on tap. Only non-chain restaurant we saw open at 6 on a summer Friday.More
