Went for lunch with a friend and although the ambience was great, we were both quite disappointed with our food. We both ordered salads...mine a caesar. At the given price point we were seriously disappointed with the portion size....it was like a side salad for meal salad price! Also, the caesar was mostly "stem", not leaf. I definitely did not feel I got my money's worth.

The Cabin is a great unpretentious place with good service and outstanding food. We had two orders of the fresh halibut which were cooked to perfection with an outstanding sauce; the stuffed chicken breast was a good sized serving with a great sauce; the steelhead was cooked to perfection and delicious; everyone remarked on the excellent cook on the vegetables. The menu is at an average price point and the food is superior to most. Service was quick and attentive without being intrusive.

Four of us, meeting for the first time in almost a year; one couple from Richmond, one couple from Pitt Meadows, converged in Crescent Beach for lunch. We made a reservation, although it was so very quiet, for a while, we were the only ones there. Homey, relaxed environment, tables placed far enough apart to be comfortable. Menus waiting for us at the table. Parking was decent. Food was excellent. I asked for a slight deviation on a menu item, and Tracy - owner - was very accommodating. Two of us ordered New England Clam Chowder, which was delicious. Something on the menu I had never seen before: on the dessert menu was an offering of 'twofer'. Two desserts on the one plate, for those of us who couldn't make up our minds. So, the four of us made a choice, and the portions were big enough for us all to share. We didn't feel rushed at lunch, and that was great for us to have time to catch up.

The fish and chips that was ordered was some of the smallest Halibut I have seen. The fries were like remnants from the day before. The coleslaw was so bad that I spit out the first forkful. The service was some of the worst I have experienced, leaving our empty pâtés in front of for 45 mins. Never refilling our water, it’s like they just did it care. The waiter should tie his shoulder length hair up, or put on some sort of hair net.my family will never return

I would like to say that everything was excellent however, the ceasar salad was horrible $14.00 for the smallest bowl ever and it was wilted. When paying for the bill the waitress asked how everything was and I mentioned the wilted salad. The other waiter said well you didn’t say anything before so no we are not going to compensate you. Not good!!

Have had decent food here in the past but service and quality have gone down hill. Very expensive for the quality. 2 salads, 2 fish and chips and an appetizer is $120. The quality is ok and a chunk of plastic was in the tartar sauce.

The good; Service was very good. The food was unacceptable in terms of preparation/ taste/ and most home cooks would have done a better job. Pricing for portions were ridiculous: i.e. a cabin salad priced at $13.00 CAD comprised of 2 cups of lettuce ( I kid you not) and not much of anything else. Our jaws dropped at what was presented and we questioned this? 2 piece Halibut and chips- haha, fish was the size of 1.5 Inches width x " 3.0 inches length each and fries, which all where Burnt. Looked like fried in very old oil. I commented on size of fish and they said they go by weight. Well, the weight is about 75 gm/ or 0.165 pd/ or 2.64 oz for $25.00 . This looks like 2 pieces of fish the length and size of a normal pinky finger. My replacement meal was Seafood Linguine- the pasta was cooked mush. Total bill came to $300. CAD for 5 people. Be aware and good luck

Food was great, portion size & flavours all great. Service unfortunately was the drawback. Server was young, maybe inexperienced? But hardly the only issue. First drinks were slow, food should have been warmer, lamb came out overcooked, a litany of issues. We will try again, but not on a Saturday night.

had a wonderful evening at' the cabin' our first dinner there was a very positive experience and left us anticipating another visit very soon. right from making a reservation to paying the bill everyone was helpful and pleasent . service was not rushed, helpful with making our choices and made us feel welcome. drinks were delicious appies arrived and then dinner was spaced just the right amount of time . our meal was served hot and was delicious....Everyone there should be proud of their restaurant and as soon as this crazy world settles down and we are back to hosting visitors THE CABIN will be our first call for reservations. Thank you

We were visiting Vancouver but staying in Surrey and wanted a nice, casual restaurant with upscale food. We were not disappointed selecting The Cabin. It is a cozy, relaxed restaurant with very good food and excellent service. I had the seafood clam chowder to start and the cioppino. The chowder was the best I have ever had. So good that my wife begged for the recipe, to no avail. She had the stuffed chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. This dish was also very good. Our daughter had a steak that was extremely well prepared. The wine list is short but reasonably priced. We had to drive quite a way to get to the restaurant but it was well worth the effort.

A dark, wild, rain-swept November evening might encourage travelers to hunker down and settle for a meal at any port in the storm. Not so our foursome. We wended our wind-whipped way to Crescent Beach's cozy, convivial Cabin restaurant Saturday night and were amply rewarded. After passing the Cabin's efficient Covid protocol, we were ushered to a candlelit table and capably served by Scott. Polite, affable and thorough, Scott encouraged us to feel right at home. Our wine glasses brimming with BC vintage, our appetizers, including fresh coastal mussels cooked in a savoury garlic white wine broth, arrived to delight the tastebuds. Keen for seafood, our mains included herb crusted halibut with a citrus beurre blanc and pan seared walnut crusted steelhead fillet topped with a maple chili butter. Yum! Each delicious meal was complemented by generous portions of coconut & lemongrass infused rice and seasonal vegetables. Yes, the Cabin buzzed with sound, but the place was hopping and diners were having a good time. Special thanks to dulcet Scott and cheerful Kendall for their excellent service and to the hardworking, creative chefs. We look forward to our next visit.

Five of us went to The Cabin for dinner. We were met at the door and asked to provide proof of vaccination and ID and then shown to our table in the main dining room. The Cabin is a relatively small restaurant and specializes in fish but also offers steak and chicken. I ordered the scallops and asked for an additional four scallops as well. I am always disappointed in the size of the West Coast scallops in comparison to the ones we had in Digby, NS. The scallops were delicious and even though they were much smaller than Digby's, I thoroughly enjoyed them especially the sauce which was a little tangy but simply added to the taste of the scallops. The food was excellent: the service was very good and efficient but the main problem was the sound level. This is a very noisy place when full and conversation with four others was very difficult.

A bit out of the way, but worth looking for this place! Check it out for yourself! The reviews below are not what we enjoyed on December 4th, 2023... Mid-afternoon lunch visit, had the place almost to ourselves, and had a Genuine Flavour Bonanza! The soup of the Day is a must. . . and my guess is EVERYTHING on the menu will be an Adventure . . . We shared the Short Rib Sandwich... WOW! We seem to have a knack for finding the BEST item on the menu on a first visit, and THIS IS IT! Did not have room for dessert at the time, so we took the "Twofer" Treat home for a late-night snack -> ANY of the Sweets are worth taking home.

Doesn't look much. BUT as my 85 year old Mum is quick to say. "Looks can be deceptive". We had the inside track. Our local friends from Delta (we're from the UK) had visited for a romantic anniversary dinner and had been impressed. So we gave it a go. No pressure as my wife's friend from college 45 years ago, over the border in the US was there.... But no problem.. Great fish starter and the Halibut was excellent. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie a reason to leave the UK and move to Canada. Yep, good service, good food. We will return in less than 45 years. Promise x

During the current pandemic, we are trying to help the local restaurants by ordering regularly. On Saturday, it was the Cabin’s turn. Easy access to the menu online and simple phone link. They are open from 4:00 to 8:00 for pickups. Ordered at 4:00 - phone was answered very pleasantly and efficiently. Food ordered for 5:30 pickup. Arrived on-time and the order was just being completed. Again, very friendly staff. We tried the halibut fish and chips, cabin salad and the short ribs - all were excellent. Regular menu prices are very reasonable and the 20% pandemic discount brought the bill to $50 plus tip. Crazy good. Definitely worth supporting this restaurant. I don’t give 5 stars often but they deserved it today.
