Accidentally posted this review for the North Vancouver address, which I did not go to apologies ! The Horseshoe Bay restaurant : always a treat for fish and chips. Basic indoor outdoor seating in the cozy surroundings of horseshoe bay village. The food is simple,...basic and outstanding! Fresh like no other place I have tried, the lightly battered fish, with cod haddock halibut options, great if not best ever onion rings, fries hot not greasy tasteful hot and fresh, unlimited supply of a very good tartare sauce on the table plus a good choice of craft beer and wine bu the glass a super enjoyable dining option. Add very friendly staff such as the wonderful Cylie (spelling?), can’t get any better than this!More

I ordered all you can eat fish and chips and obviously you can order more fish or more chips or both fish and chips if you wish, which I did order another plate of fish. The extra order of fish must be as fresh as...the main dish and could not be a refried fish which is already returned to the kitchen, and I am sure it won't ever happen at this location. To sum up my experience, this is my way of saying thank to the staffs, to add 20% tip to the total amount of the bill by credit card and also present extra cash money to the waitress, as I said to thank and also let them know that I am not stupid in case of refried fish. In total I love and enjoy this chain restaurant, especially in sunny day at Horseshoe Bay.More

Friendly staff. Good size portions, but wish they had larger plate sizes as the plate is too small. We always have the haddock and it is delicious. Fries and slaw are great. C-Lovers, regardless of location is consistently good. The one on Pemberton is equally...as good.More

Trolls was our first choice, but for the second time on our trip we settled for second choice ... C-Lovers could accommodate us on their patio so we could be close to our bikes as we waited out rush hour and ferry traffic. COVID protocols...followed and appreciated. We had the all-you-can-eat special that included a beer and value was good. It was a nicely battered fish and the fries were good as well. Attentive wait staff. This dinner was basic and met our needs. If budget is a consideration - this place is for you. Food was good. Atmosphere nothing special, but that didn't bother us.More

Since Troll’s was closed for sit-in dining at 7:00 pm we went to C-Lovers in the next block. After a long wait we were seated. There was only one waitress in the whole joint !! She took orders, collected the cash, etc and was overburdened!...She ignored us several times when we tried to get her attention. When we got frustrated, one of us got up and went to the waitress to ask her if we could get some service and the reply was in a very rude tone and manner saying she was alone on the floor!! We walked out and went to a nice restaurant in North Vancouver where the food was good, excellent service and better ambiance! I would never go back to that C-ty place again!More

Stopped for a quick bite. I commercial fish halibut for a living and am very fussy about fish. I have to say the halibut and chips was excellent and our server was incredibly efficient and delightful

I had a terrible experience at this c lovers. I stood at the from door for 15 minutes waiting for a seat while there were 5 dirty tables and everyone would just walk by. Then I asked if they were going to clean the tables...so they could start sitting people and she said there was only the 2 of them but there were multiple employees working at this time including a buser. The couple a head of us couldn’t wait any longer and left along with a couple that hadn’t even ordered yet. We sat there for a little with no service the buser actually went to the server and told them we were waiting. We were in a hurry to get back to the ferry so I waved our server down and was asking her if I could get a container for my food and she walked away from me mid sentence I said excuse me and she said I will have to come back and pack your food for you when I have time. Then my friend asked her to pack up her cocktail sauce in the bag and she said I’ll try my best ... whatever that means. She’s was miserable, time to get better staffing that care about the customers paying the bills. Will never return that that c lovers or any other to be honest.More

The fish at C-Lovers is much better than at Troll's (across the road) but otherwise this place is mixed. Staff are quirky and grumpy, the menu is limited and the beer selection is very poor. But I keep going there because the cod and haddock...are just so damned good. I'd recommend you avoid the all-you-can-eat menu unless you are starving and undiscerning - it's pollack which isn't the nicest of fish - try the good haddock or excellent codMore

A busy place lots of customers. The fish and chips came quickly fish portions a bit small but you could order more as part of their all you can eat program. Standard fare ok but there are other fish and chip restaurants that serve larger...initial portions..Want your meal fast and furious this is the place. We have now opted for other fish and chip restaurants.More

Went in based on reviews and the fact they had a takeaway counter. Ordered a piece of cod with chips. The fish was lovely and white but not very big but really not impressed with the chips. Large portion but no way as good as...the chips in my local chip shop back in the UK.More

Enjoy the North Shore's best deep fried cod, haddock, halibut or salmon while seated in arbrite-tabled booths. The fish batter is light and crispy, and not greasy. It's cooked to order, so it is always fresh. Of course, there are chips, coleslaw(excellent), deep fried shrimp,...and other expected accompaniments. The restaurant is licensed. It has always been clean when we have been there. On the down side, there has been a bit of price creep, with the halibut particularly pricey for a small piece. We choose the flakey haddock for a larger piece at a better price. There is also an all you can eat cod option. I took visitors from England there this summer. They said it was better than the fish and chips in the UK, and it was their second favourite meal in Canada. Obviously, I wouldn't eat fish and chips every day, but if you are going to give yourself an occasional treat, do yourself a favour and get those fish and chips at C-Lovers.More

Went here with severe jet lag, this wasn't an issue, the staff were excellent and the "unlimited" fish & chips with a free beer was excellent, I would recommend this place to anyone with a healthy appetite.

The location is within easy walking distance to the ferry terminal and the bay. The service was quick and the waitress was very friendly. The fish and chips were exceptional and very reasonably priced!
