We ordered takeout. The food was ok. There’s nothing in particular to talk about. It’s one of those restaurants that you went there and forgot about it.

I've been eating there for 5 years, almost every Friday night. Mostly take out. I should try something new I know, but my regulars are so good. They are General Tao chicken (mild spice), Lemon Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Sole with snap peas (but subtitute...black bean sauce). About $20/dish, so a little expensive, but the portions are large. I know they changed hands a couple years ago, but guessing they have the same chef, as I havent seen any changes in the food. Still great.More
I think this has changed hands again. The food is still very good but the prices have gone up. The new owner/manager is not welcoming and also clearly didn’t want to change a dish when they delivered the wrong one to our table.
This used to be the best Chinese Szechuan food in town. They must have changed owners or chefs as the takeout we ordered last night was awful. Tasted like food you would expect to receive at a food court and that is being generous. Tasteless...and not prepared the way it used to be. Sad to see another favourite restaurant in west Vancouver gone by the way side. Please go back to the way it was as we won’t be visiting this restaurant again until changes are made.More
Went there twice to give them business during the shutdown. Each time they got something major wrong with the order. The first time I had to make 2 trips to get it right. Tried it again and they got the basics wrong. No cashews in...the cashew chicken? There wont be a third visit.More
Took my mum here for lunch on a Sunday. Not crowded, had a nice table by the window. Menu varied, service fast. Had chicken spring rolls, prawns and stir fry veggies, and tofu with bok choy stir fry. Hood food, not too spicy for mum....Lots of leftovers to take home.More
THE WORST I have ever had. Tasteless, bland, disgusting Chinese food. The name makes you think maybe elevated High quality cuisine but its not. The crispy noodle dish was laughable. The noodles came in this BIG white container and the idea is I had to...pour the sauce over them myself? OMG horrible. The lemon chicken sauce was Tasteless and I mean NO TASTE ZERO! We ordered from home.. the service was good but that is all that was. Pretty bad when two people throw everything in the garbage.. it was that inedible.More
Order took 1 hr 20 minutes to arrive, previous orders would be delivered within 30 minutes. Food was barely warm, had to be reheated. Order was wrong, they left off the main entree. The gal that took our order was unable to hear properly on...the phone because it was so noisy in the restaurant. When I phoned back to discuss the missing item, she apologized, and said they have new management. We will no longer order from Ginger & soy.More
The staff were very friendly however the food came out cold and tasteless. The first dish was wonton soup and it wasn't even hot .. how can you not even serve a broth soup hot? The beef in our beef and broccoli dish wasn't hot...either, and I hate to say that it didn't really taste that much like beef. The chow mein didn't have a lot of taste and the mixed veg dish was also lukewarm. They agreed to deduct a few dishes off our bill but that was only after a bit of a discussion, which then we were told they were short-staffed in the kitchen - something they should have told us up-front so that we would expect dinner to be a bit longer in order to get it hot. I was excited to try this restaurant, and I hadn't had Chinese food in a while so was looking forward to it, but I will never go back.More
We booked a reservation a week before arriving in town. We live in another city but love this restaurant. We arrived and the entire restaurant was full but we knew we had a reservation. Then the 2 people in front of us were seated in...the table for 4 that we had a reservation for. Management apologized and offered us a table for 2 to sit wait at while 2 other persons in our party could stand and hope to get seats in about 30-40 min! Really? The party of 2 were still taking their coats off at the table for 4. They could have easily apologized for their error, sat them at the table for 2 and us at the table for 4. instead they lost a customer who goes to their restaurant at least 4-6 times a year For the last 6 years. At 7pm pre xmas we were hooped. They will no longer be our go to.More
We ordered take out and picked it up. Without a doubt the worst Chinese food we have ever had. Three meat dishes all had what seemed like the same sauce - which had a lot of vinegar in it and was the consistency of glue....Veggies overcooked. Very strange tasting sauce with the spring rolls, which were kind of weird tasting as well. Can not believe people have given it 5 stars. Would like to introduce them to good Chinese food. And it was expensive.More
This is a small and very busy restaurant with some of the best Chinese food in West Vancouver. The hot and sour soup and spring rolls and sweet-and-sour pork were absolutely perfect
I like small restaurants mainly because it usually means the staff have more time to spend with their customers. However, the place is always busy so go early! One of the few Chinese restaurants that is worth going to in West Vancouver.
We order from this restaurant for home delivery at least a couple of times a month and dine in occasionally. The food is consistently good and always arrives nice and hot when home delivered. Love the squid apetizer and duck lettuce wraps!
Ginger and Soy was a very busy place for lunch. The service even with the restaurant full was very prompt and friendly. I ordered the black bean prawns which came with seafood hot and sour soup. The portions were small but very tasty and enough...for lunch.More
