Very enjoyable dinner at the Pony. I had the Maui Poke Bowl, and my husband had the pulled pork burger. The best part of the dinner was our server. She is from England, and had a great sense of humour!

Stoped for lunch here after visiting the falls nearby. Our server was lovely and even gave us a warning that the food may take longer than usual ( although we wouldn’t know what usual was! ). He was very chatty and attentive. I went for...a burger having seen people around me with them and they looked good. The food actually didn’t take long at all to come. Unfortunately my burger was way over cooked and dry despite it staying on the menu that all the burgers are severed medium. The only good thing about my food was the fries which were delicious and definitely homemade. Everyone else really enjoyed their food so it must have been my burger that was the issue.More
Firstly, Raef, is an excellent server and he's very polite! Secondly, the food was great (Falafel and Donair), but Raef's patient service was the reason I wrote a review. Cheers,
We stopped here on a road trip for lunch, and it's been 3 years since our last visit, so we were interested to see how the visits compared. We were so happy to have the same great food and service as our previous visit. We...both had burgers, which are absolutely the best in our opinion. It was wonderful to be able to sit outside on the patio - last time with Covid we had to do takeaway. The server was excellent. Rafe was wonderful, and took great care to make sure our visit was perfect. In fact, everyone we came in contact with was excellent, so much so that we went to find the manager or supervisor on duty to commend them. The server we found inside told us that there was no supervisor onsite until the evening, which means that the staff was motivated and doing a great job, even without a boss around. if we were still in the business of hiring staff, we would have loved to poach anyone who was working that day. (Just kidding, but you know what we mean). Kudos to whoever does the hiring and training. We will be back.More
This is a gem. Great food, great cocktails, great atmosphere. Nice compact menu, but with a wide variety of choices. Nice crispy fries, terrific burger, these are cooks and staff that make sure you go home with a smile on your face. A lot of...local beers on draft as well. Highly recommended!More
After a long drive, we felt welcomed right away to this warm, cozy and rustic restaurant. The crowd was lively for a weeknight and our server was very friendly and efficient. We had the seafood chowder special and it was delicious and satisfying with a...local craft beer. I would definitely visit here again when we are in the area.More
Our server was very evidently inexperienced, but that’s pretty par for the course these days. She forgot a few of our drinks, didn’t know anything about the draft options and our drinks all took quite awhile. They were definitely understaffed. The wait was about an...hour, but we were able to phone in for a spot on the waitlist for dinner. Food was great- one couple from our party had the mussels earlier in the weekend and had them again tonight. Ginger beef was fantastic & the burgers were impressive. Would go back with hopes of better service, based solely on the great food. Wouldn’t hesitate to get takeout- they had a separate takeout/pickup window.More
When researching where to go for our trip, The Pony was one of the reasons I picked Pemberton because of their website. It gives the impression that it's nearly farm to table with high end execution on traditional dishes. It's not, not by a long...shot. The splash page reads, "The Pony Restaurant provides guests with a fine dining experience presented in typical rustic Pemberton fashion." I call BS. The fish and chips I had were disgusting, but after sampling my date's food which was equally unimpressive Sysco slop, I figured exchanging it wouldn't make a difference. The coleslaw was just a pile of watery mayo, the filet was paper thin, the batter was soft and oozing oil, and the tarter was not even tarter. I felt like I'd choked down a paper towel I'd just used to mop up a grease spill. Look, I get pub food is pub food and it has its place but don't have a website that makes you look like The Boathouse when you're serving food equivalent to a bar night at the Legion. This is a place to order shots and a burger, not whatever it's selling itself as online. Staff was on point though, only reason they didn't get a 1.More
I’m just done. We tried them again after a few years and I left them the same review. They realllllllllly need to work on their “gravy”. It tastes like liquid smoke. The food is mediocre and to be honest, we would rather McDonald’s which really...is the only other option. My husband got their “Donair” and he literally eats EVERYTHING and he said it was sludge. With very limited options in Pemby the pony needs to step it up...ugh.More
One of the best restaurants in the entire region, including Whistler. Service is excellent and the meals are always fresh and prepared perfectly.
I am not much a hamburger guy ,but every one I talk to ,they all tell us go try the Pony Restaurant ,so we are glad we did ,it is a small diner nothing fancy ,with a patio ,first come first sever , , love...to see the social distancing and safety plan perfectly done , menu have lot to choose , it is so tough to resist the chicken wing ,it is good ,but the size like pigeons my Gourmet burger delicious ,,good fresh quality meat and the ingredients very fresh ,and my friends Shrimp sandwich looks yummy too , service is well slow , and sad to say due to the current pandemic ,,the hours of operation is different week by week , due to short of staff ,but over all ,nice diner ,so if you passing thought , drop by and try the burger .it is fabulous !More
Visited during COVID and they were very conscientious about distancing, hand washing, and sanitizing. The service was very good. Food was delicious and plentiful. I ordered the ribs and my husband ordered the General Tao bowl. We would definitely eat here again when visiting Pemberton.
and great service too. I’ve been coming here since 2003. Always delicious lunches and a friendly local vibe. This time we had the falafel and donair wraps. Great takeaway for the drive over the Duffey.
Even though they could not offer dine in yet, due to Covid, we were able to order takeaway and eat it at one of the outside tables on the wooden porch. We both ordered burgers and fries. I ordered the classic burger with cheese, and...it was the best I think I have ever had! My husband had the burger with blue cheese (I think it was the Black & Blue one), and he is still raving about it.The server was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely come back.More
