Bustling local haunt serving good selection of homemade pastries and bread in a small town, rustic setting. Ganache brownie and breakfast sandwich were as good as a big city fancy deli.
A little pricey by my standards but a good experience nonetheless. They have lots of options that all look really good and friendly staff. We had the sourdough bread which I liked.
Went for the Saturday dinner and had some breakfast the next day. Dinner was what you would expect, family style, big portions, decent food. Breakfast was so-so... We had breakfast croissants that were microwaved and had no taste. We also had nutella pie that was...good. Staff is friendly and overall it's a nice place to stop by and have a bite and a chill on the patio.More
The absolute best sticky buns I've ever had. Also an excellent cup of coffee. That's all I had ,so I can't review the rest , but everything looked good. Don't pass this place by.
Wow. What a great stop traveling thru town. Our sandwich was as good a deli sandwich that I have had for a long time. The bakery goods where gret with smiling people and great service. You Haines Junction people are blessed to have this restaurant.
We had planned to go here during our stay in Haines junction but it was closed. I. Imagine maybe as the winter was long and not much had yet opened. Maybe another week or two and it would have been open.More

Lots of tasty bakery items for a lovely lunch or stop for coffee.... The service was very friendly and efficient. Next time, this will be our FIRST stop!
We bought a fresh sourdough loaf and we did not realize after eating them up at Dawson that we bought a jalapeno cheddar sourdough loaf. Still good though! We also ordered a variety of brownies to bring on our way up to Dawson and they...all taste great! We also ate croissant sandwiches as dine in and they serve a heated sandwich to you. Definitely a great stop to restock on food when driving west to Anchorage and Fairbanks, east to Whitehorse and Watson Lake, or north to Dawson.More
Stopped at Village Bakery on a recommendation from a family member who had eaten here before. The special of the day we visited was a brisket, bacon and cheddar cheese puff (warm) served with a dipping sauce. Yum. It was so good I bought a...second one and took it "to go". Cinnamon Buns and coffee appeared to be a popular choice for others who were there. This appears to be the social meeting place in Haines Junction. Glad to have stopped here.More
Loved this place. Came upon it by accident. They have everything and the staff are wonderful and friendly. Would definitely recommend. Everything is fresh and wonderful. Great start to our day.
This is a nice-looking little place but did not live up to the hype we had heard. Firstly, the staff attitude can only be described as disdainful. They acted like it was an imposition to answer the ONE question we asked about what was on...offer, and to ring up our two coffees. And we were the only customers at the time. Secondly, the offerings are quite limited and the prices are astronomical. We paid $8 for two just-OK coffees. Honestly, the gas station just up the road has a good coffee bar and charges $5 for two comparable coffees. This place tries to be a Portland- like coffee shop - and if that were the case, it might justify the prices. But it’s not. Also, in Portland the staff would be friendlier.More
Oh no! I'm so sorry you had such an unpleasant experience with us. That is not normally the way we would like for our employees to make our customers feel. If you have the time, could you please lt us know what day/time you visited...More
I just want to give a shout-out to the wonderful staff at the Village Bakery and Deli, who were incredibly kind and considerate during our recent visit to Haines Junction. We had dinner reservations for last Friday night. During the afternoon my wife broke her...wrist while we were hiking. I called the Bakery to tell them we couldn't come and to ask if maybe we could buy some sandwiches for the road trip to the hospital in Whitehorse. They immediately understood and very kindly opened up the Bakery for us, even though they were closed for a busy dinner prep. So we had great sandwiches while we were on the road, the only dinner we were going to have that night. They even refunded our dinner tickets, which they had no obligation to do. The Bakery is always a highlight of our trips to Haines Junction, and especially with such wonderful staff who were a bright point on an otherwise bad day.More
A great surprise in the southeast corner of the Yukon! Great fresh baked breads and pastries, delicious deli sandwiches and paninis (try the brisket or pulled pork!) and enough fresh baked sweets to fill your cooler for the week. A must if you’re driving the...Alaskan Highway and anywhere near Haines Junction.More
We have been going to the Yukon from BC for the past 5 years and always stopped a number of time at the Village Bakery when we were in Kluane National Park. When we decided to get married at Kathleen Lake (in Kluane National Park),...we contacted the Village Bakery. Chris was great! He was super flexible, ready to change and adjust to my every whim, and easily accommodated our dietary needs - one vegan, one lactose intolerant person and one person allergic to beans. The food was delicious and he was also great at making it a really affordable price and delivering it!! We even had enough leftovers for a yummy post-wedding lunch for all. Thanks Chris and staff!!! Oh yah, he found a local marriage commissioner for us, and she was fantastic too.More
