We had breakfast here on 2 mornings and had takeaway pasta salad for lunch on another day. It’s a cute little place with good energy (was surprised to see the waitress who served us the night before in the pub, cheerfully serve us the following morning in the bakery). We had egg and sausage muffins and the cinnamon buns. All very tasty and fresh. The pasta salad with pesto for lunch also very tasty and fairly priced. What a lovely place to visit for breakfast - an unexpected find in a very remote location. Thanks for the yummy food.

Fresh tasty food. Haines is a tiny dot of a town so good food options are limited. Valley bakery offers fresh bread, breakfast wraps, croissants. Sweet and savoury options. Fresh bread, food to go,hot and cold drinks and a lovely patio to eat it on. They have events with food and music Friday and Saturdays during the summer. Book online.

We bought a fresh sourdough loaf and we did not realize after eating them up at Dawson that we bought a jalapeno cheddar sourdough loaf. Still good though! We also ordered a variety of brownies to bring on our way up to Dawson and they all taste great! We also ate croissant sandwiches as dine in and they serve a heated sandwich to you. Definitely a great stop to restock on food when driving west to Anchorage and Fairbanks, east to Whitehorse and Watson Lake, or north to Dawson.

Stopped here based on the reviews, and found that there is NOTHING special about this place. It’s basically a bottom shelf Panera where you wait on yourself, bus your own table, don’t get any free refills on your coffee and are then asked if you want to tip them?!? The items are all premade in the display, so all of the ingredients in the bacon bfast burrito were a uniform mush consistency. They will ask if you want your burrito “heated up”. If you say yes, you will find a $3 charge on your receipt for every item you had warmed up. Seriously? And the bakery items are amateur at best. What an expensive, unfulfilling waste of time.

Village Bakery Management
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. We sincerely appreciate it! We're really sorry to hear that your recent visit didn't meet your expectations. Our little bakery and deli is tucked away in a remote location, and we take pride in crafting each of our items from scratch every day. While we may not be a full-scale restaurant, we strive to ensure a great experience for every guest. If you order a custom sandwich, soup, or any heated item from our deli case, just let our staff know where you're seated at checkout, and they'll gladly bring it to your table once it's ready. Regarding the heating charge, we want to clarify that we do not impose a surcharge for heating items. Any additional costs you may have noticed are likely related to specialty items like bacon, which are already factored into the displayed prices but are broken down individually on the receipts for full pricing transparency. However, if you believe there's an error on your receipt, particularly related to a warming charge, please reach out to us directly at VillageBakeryYukon@gmail.com so we can promptly address and correct it. We truly value your patronage and sincerely hope we'll have the chance to welcome you back for a more enjoyable experience soon.

Went for the Saturday dinner and had some breakfast the next day. Dinner was what you would expect, family style, big portions, decent food. Breakfast was so-so... We had breakfast croissants that were microwaved and had no taste. We also had nutella pie that was good. Staff is friendly and overall it's a nice place to stop by and have a bite and a chill on the patio.

We bought over $30, which wasn’t hard to do. Scones all have frosting on them. NOT my thing, but Hubby got 2 and said they were just ok. More like cake than typical scone. He also got the bison “sausage” cheesy bread, which was all cheesy bread with a sliver of a bison sausage. He’d get the ham & cheese croissant over the sausage bread. I got 3 big cookies for $10. To my surprise, the best one was oatmeal walnut cranberry, then ginger molasses. I eventually threw out the chocolate chip cookie. The order of tastiness was the opposite of what I would have thought.

I just want to give a shout-out to the wonderful staff at the Village Bakery and Deli, who were incredibly kind and considerate during our recent visit to Haines Junction. We had dinner reservations for last Friday night. During the afternoon my wife broke her wrist while we were hiking. I called the Bakery to tell them we couldn't come and to ask if maybe we could buy some sandwiches for the road trip to the hospital in Whitehorse. They immediately understood and very kindly opened up the Bakery for us, even though they were closed for a busy dinner prep. So we had great sandwiches while we were on the road, the only dinner we were going to have that night. They even refunded our dinner tickets, which they had no obligation to do. The Bakery is always a highlight of our trips to Haines Junction, and especially with such wonderful staff who were a bright point on an otherwise bad day.

Friendly and helpful staff. Interesting building nestled off the main roads. Excellent sandwiches and muffins. Warm friendly atmosphere. There were 2 or 3 tables for eat-in meals and larger outdoor patio. Good coffee too. Prices reasonable for niche bakery. Will return before we leave Haines Junction.

Stopped at Village Bakery on a recommendation from a family member who had eaten here before. The special of the day we visited was a brisket, bacon and cheddar cheese puff (warm) served with a dipping sauce. Yum. It was so good I bought a second one and took it "to go". Cinnamon Buns and coffee appeared to be a popular choice for others who were there. This appears to be the social meeting place in Haines Junction. Glad to have stopped here.

My husband and I had breakfast here. We were surprised at the variety of offerings. We had quiche and a breakfast sandwich. Of course we left with baked goods for the road. We didn't know the procedure of how to order but the friendly staff helped us. Seating was a bit of a problem but that speaks to the freshness and quality of the food. The locals crowded in so you knew it had to be good. Thanks

Coming from Watson Lake, where I live it was a welcome find. Fresh food, baking, sandwiches, homemade juices and ice cream. Nice staff, good senses of humour. Nice places to sit. I can’t wait to grab a coffee tomorrow morning. Right across from Carnivore Cabins.

It's about the only thing we saw in Haines Junction that didn't look run down. I got a nanaimo bar and a beer. Wife got some pasta salad and a good coffee. Sit out back on the deck, take your time and enjoy the day.

All was good, muffins, buns, breads, coffees… and with a smile. So definitely the best address in Haines junction, by far.
