Zoe’s Bakery & Cafe, in the eye-watering West Coast ocean village of Ucluelet, has a good number of mouth- watering locations at which to eat &/or pick up food from. Zoe’s is one of them. Zoe’s is open from 8 am to 3 pm daily...but for Wed & Thurs, & also crafts custom-made cakes to order for weddings, birthdays etc., alongside those on its menu like its delicious carrot cake. It will not be taking any more custom-cake orders now but happily, it is still open in 2022 for its enticing selection of its mouthwatering food from its baked goods, its daily sandwiches et al — offerings it calls its redeelde deets, an expression, similar to the expression I use of tasty morsels, referring to foods which hit the sweet spot & charm the taste buds. We have often ordered Zoe’s custom cakes, as a family & I ordered one created to be reminiscent of the first one I made for my son’s first birthday — often repeated after its resounding maiden success. I described it to Zoe & requested desired elements, asking her to craft four tiers with initials on each, signally my four family members. Zoe took my original to new heights on all levels, reimagining my double-level chocolate cake with dulce de leche to a four-tiered chocolate cake, with dulche de leche filling, adding extras such as cream et al, moving it to a new high. She also kindly delivered it to my family who live close to her bakery. Zoe’s has become a must for locals & visitors alike. I came to visit once, traveling by Tofino Bus, the bus transportation company, which services the region. Even the bus driver raved about Zoe’s when I mentioned it. Zoe’s is as mindful, as it is food knowledgeable. It makes sure as little is wasted as possible, using every last bit of its raw foods, as well as generously giving food not sold at the end of the day to those who need food support. Zoe’s is a restaurant member of the west coast culinarily guild — Tofino Ucluelet Culinary Guild (TUCG) — a wonderful farm to table organization initiated by a number of terroir-based restaurants located in this inspiring region. All that can should become members of this wonderful non-profit & there are a number of appropriate levels at which to do so. Most of my favorite eateries are eatery members. These include Zoe’s, Heartwood, Ucluelet Brewing Company, Pluvio, & Abondanza Pizzas. TUCG has a great array of farmers, foragers, fishers, dairy & cheese et al producers. Individual- buying members can get a year’s membership for 40$. My Ukee family have a membership & I have kindly been afforded one by TUCG for the festive December period. It delivers to Ukee, as locals call Ucluelet, weekly on Friday for central pick up for its various buying members. Tasty morsels abound in this culinary Mecca of Ukee. Posted by S FullerMore

Hands down the best place for coffee and a pastry in Ucluelet. I tried both savoury and sweet pastries and went back every day that I spent in Ukee.

If you need a quick meal, this is the place to be, as seen by the lineups that run outside the building. We took away the croissants, fresh bread, and sugar cookies, which were all freshly prepared and very tasty. Separate entrance/exits for customers to...enter and leave the building to enhance physical distancing. Breakfast is offered until 11 am and lunch items like soups, sandwiches, and vegan bowl are also available. You can also order online. Closed Wed. and Thur., open from 8 am - 3 pm otherwise. Free parking nearby.More

Outstanding breakfast sandwich - biscuit like and alternating daily between an egg option or egg + meat. Large selection of baked goods. Some indoor seating and more outdoor seating. Artwork for sale.

We stumbled upon Zoe's one morning since we were looking for a coffee. There was so much buzz around the building, we knew it would be good. There was a pretty long line up (apparently you can krder k line to get through faster), but...we enjoyed chatting with the others in line. Although we were only popping in for a coffee, we were surprised to see such an amazing display of goodies! We ended up buying several things to take back with us....here are the hits..... Black bean burrito-incredible! The wraps are obviously made I house and it is an excellent choice (better than the egg bake which was a close 2nd). Cinnamon roll- a must! Carrot cake, with pineapple....brilliant. Berry Nanaimo bar- delicious, but very sweet. Overall, totally worth the wait, make sure you add this stop to your trip!More

I was very lucky to be invited to spectacular Ucluelet on Canada’s West Coast by my son & his family to celebrate a milestone birthday with him. I ticked off the places I love in this culinary Mecca. Zoe’s in on my list. I love...the food; the philosophy of no waste; using local ingredients, where possible, & giving to those in the community in need any food left over at the end of the day. It is open daily from 8 am to 3 pm, but for Wednesday & Thursday, creating great breakfast, brunch, lunch & treats options. All are delicious, as are the cakes one can special order, as I did some years ago. The cake was not only fabulous in taste, but it followed my vision plus some & was beautiful to look at. Zoe, the cafe’s owner, brings talent to mindfulness, surrounding herself with a good team to make it a great Ukee favorite. Posted by S Fuller.More

Really great place for morning coffee and pastry, with sandwiches for lunch. Cinnamon rolls, scones, and the sausage puff are the best. Friendly atmosphere and service. Going mid-morning will likely see a long line. Note they are closed on Wednesday and Thursday.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!OMG, this place is amazing! We ordered a homemade raspberry pop tart, a cruffin with lemon curd, and a blueberry tart/shortbread base….everything was incredible! We sat outside at the picnic tables and enjoyed the morning sun, and laughed at the crows that wanted to take...our food and any leftover crumbs. We didn’t have any coffee or drinks, but it smelled amazing when we entered the business!More

Unique breakfast offerings, like a jacked up egg sandwich, a frittata and an egg bake thingee. We also saw scones and pastries and lots of good coffee options --- we don't drink it, but everyone else was ordering and enjoying. Avoid the sausage roll --...enough grease to sink a battleship. The rest, however, was delicious. and the staff is friendly.More

Grabbed a mocha and sandwich to go and enjoy at the lighthouse. The sandwich was very filling. This is a good spot for a quick drink and bite on the go.
