Basic food. Ribs and fries were overcooked, coleslaw was dead on the plate. Expected more for the price. Service was pleasant.

This place on a Tuesday night was full. The atmosphere was amazing we sat up at the bar due to no seats. Huge selection of local beers The food was amazing with the highlight being the potine
Service was prompt and the waitress was courteous. It wasn't busy around 1:00 p.m. on a Wednesday in Sep, My friend had a huge caesar salad and I had the beer battered fish and chips. My friend and I wanted to chat and the waitress...didn't bother us. Which was wonderful. There was plenty to eat and neither of us could finish it all. Bathroom was very clean. We went there because a friend recommended it.More
Dropped in for lunch...1 pm .. limited and expensive menu...loud music inside...left prior to ordering ..31 Jul...
Our dinner here was just fabulous! We brought our 14 month old son with us and were left sitting for awhile as there was some mixup it seemed as to who was serving our table. However, when our waiter realized the mistake, he completely made...up for it with his service the rest of the evening. Our dishes came out quickly, with our sons Mac n Cheese coming out in record time straight after we ordered, so that he could get started eating. It's always a huge help when we can get him fed first. It makes the whole meal go smoother. The beer and cider we had was great and the meal was even better. Our waiter really talked up the Bao Buns and so my husband tried them. He found then to be seriously good. I had the Fish Tacos, which I really really enjoyed. The salsa totally made them. Yummmmm, so good! We even got dessert, which we never do! We split the cheesecake and it was heaven! Such a great meal and we had leftover Mac n Cheese for our sons next meal as well. It was perfect.More
On our last evening in Picton we were wondering where we might go for supper. We had enjoyed a few other places during the week but decided to try The County Canteen and loved it. Great little spot with good service, a comfortable patio and...a really good burger.More
This is our second time dining at The County Canteen, the first time being a few years ago. We were equally as pleased with our experience. We visited on a beautiful Friday night and they were quick to seat us nearby where the live music...would be. Food and live music were amazing! Prices were comparable to other great pubs, especially considering it was in the County.More
This restaurant looked like an excellent option to order in for a Saturday meal. The website clearly indicates that take-out is an option. When we phoned at approx. 5:30pm to order a meal (after careful planning and choices were made for 5 people) we were...excited to place out order. When trying to order we were told the kitchen is closed and no orders will be taken - no other explanation. I can understand the multiple reasons why they could not take our order but my review is to share perspective on how that message was delivered. We were not told why or sorry for inconvenience. If takeout can be hindered based on busiest than state that on the website - example - place your orders before x:xx pm. Sorry County Canteen we were unable to spend our money at your establishment.More
Went for lunch and had nachos and poutine with real Quebec curd. The nachos were perfect. Most times you go into a restaurant and order nachos and lack of cheese, veggies etc. This nacho plate was perfect. The poutine had real Quebec curd, it really...did and the gravy was right. Good local beer as well. We will be returning. Cheers.More
My wife & I stopped by Sunday afternoon for a pint and some wings. The place was nice enough except that the door was wide open and most of the patrons and some of the staff kept their winter jackets on as it was quite...cold outside. The wings were sparrow sized and burnt. The fries looked like burnt twigs and we had to ask for dipping sauce. The server was nice & pleasant although she didn't know what a wine spritzer was and eventually brought one albeit without ice. Will not be back anytime soon.More
Don’t miss this place. Good variety of food and drink. The local beers are great. Fried chicken sandwich was very tasty. Kids also enjoyed their food.
Very cute little patio with a nice ambiance. Always full of people. Great location in downtown picton. We had a fried chicken and a vegetarian burger. Both were excellent. Best burgers we had in a while. The fries were great too. The only surprise was...the extra charge for the gravy sauce for the fries. But still, excellent value for the price. Would absolutely visit again.More
My husband and myself travelled to Picton to receive our COVID vaccine and decided to grab lunch. We order a burger with fries and a chicken burger with fries. My husband picked up our order and we sat in the car to eat. When we...opened up our order the fries were terrible looking. They were over cooked and over heated. They were dried out and hard. My husband said his burger was ok . My chicken burger was deep fried so hard you could barely bite into it. It was covered with soggy coleslaw. It was the worse sandwich I have ever eaten. I hate complaining in these difficult times but a restaurant that provides food should not be allowed to serve food like that. I’m just sorry I didn’t take a picture. I don’t know how a restaurant that serves food in that condition is still in business.More
We picked up a few orders of their back rib specials. They were smoked, then lathered in a delicious whiskey bbq sauce and finished on a grill. The meat fell off the bone. It was advertised as a full rack and it was a full...rack! We had leftovers for another night. I would highly recommend them. It was great to support one of our local restaurants during this time.More
Sat on the patio this past Sunday for lunch. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing. Great selection of local beers as well.
