I recently took a short vacation on Quadra Island (June 20-24, 2019). After travelling a good part of the day from Toronto to Vancouver to Nanaimo to Campbell River and to Quadra, I was very hungry when I got to the Island after 5:00 pm....I used Google to look for pizza and came up with "Lovin Oven". I had been there back in 2009 when I lasted visited Quadra.
I attend the location on Plaza Road. From the outside, it wasn't completely clear to me what the name of the place was. At that time the only word that mattered was, "pizza". It was a nicely laid out place with a bar area and a good number of tables for those looking to stay in.
I ordered the Mediterranean pizza. As I was having a caeser salad, I had the 10-inch pizza, as opposed to the larger size. The salad was excellent. Cheese, crisp lettuce, lots of croutons and, most importantly, great flavor. There was no skimping on the portion. The salad came within ten minutes of me arriving and the pizza came just after I finished my salad. The pizza was of the gourmet type, with a wonderful thin crust and awesome toppings. It was the perfect size for my appetite.
The person that tended to my table may have been one of the owners. He gave me a quick history of how the "Lovin Oven" evolved into "The Clove". It was obvious that this person cared about customer satisfaction, and I left there very much satisfied.
I would highly recommend The Clove to anyone visiting Quadra. The restaurant has a nice, cozy atmosphere. For those looking for an alcoholic beverage with their meal, it appeared to me that the bar was well-stocked. The pizza is of a very high quality and there is good variety on the menu. I will definitely come back here when I visit again in 2020.More
