If you want creamy mushroom soup and beet salad, then do not eat here. Their creamy mushroom soup is basically broth with some mushroom mixed in and served at a room temperature. We enjoyed our lunch at this charming restaurant. I had an invigorating cappuccino with almond milk and the dragon bowl: marinated grilled tofu greens cabbage, and a hefty portion of brown rice. Delicious spicy dressing. Hubby had a veggie burger spicy with kidney beans and...African peanut soup. Folks at the table beside us were eating Rueben sandwiches with meat and cheese (not vegan). One of us is a vegan, and the other vegetarian, and we were both amazed. The soup was so tasty, very fresh and creative food, which often one doesn't find for vegetarian fare. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly. The service was fantastic, so much...so that the review saying she was inattentive must definitely be for a different restaurant-- this does happen so time. While we were there, a disabled diner who was in a wheelchair finished eating, and the server took him outside to the taxi. This sort of thing is so impressive about Canada. Our waitress was horrid on every level. Inattentive, condescending, mouthy and surly. She made it known that we weren't welcome, and that serving us was a compulsory chore she would rather not be doing. I feel badly for the owners if this person deals with...all customers this way. The food was decent, even though they were out of several things we wanted to order, but our experience was ruined by the service staff. Next time I visit my family on Quadra, I will go elsewhere.More

The home fries were fresh and tasty with the egg bennies. Veggie bowl was advertised as yam and potato but they ran out of yams :-( Latte and Cappuccino were smooth and delicious too. Nice environment near the farmers market on Saturday morning.

I liked the feel of this place. The waitress was friendly and helpful, we originally were going to have breakfast, but the menu was not exactly what we expected for a breakfast menu, we all had a BLT which came with a bowl of 7...spice soup, both were delicious, I would go back again if we were staying longer on the island. They have a great selection of breakfast foods served until 1 PM and they try to use local ingredients. The service was quick and friendly. I wish they would serve lunch items too.

Found this gem. They serve the best pot of tea in BC probably Canada. Loose leaf tea, proper tea pot But best of all boiling water!!!! They have a really good selection of 24 teas to choose from. BLISS!!
