In my short trip to Port Hardy, Cafe Guido became my go to spot for coffee! Great Latte's, delicious soup and sandwich offerings, mouth watering pastries and great staff. Great way to start anyway by visiting Cafe Guido.
We ordered some sandwich wraps at the counter which were made on the spot and heated for good measure. YYUUUUUUMMYY! Seriously tasty and filling and really well-priced (compared to any coffee shop in a bigger city). While we were waiting, we browsed through the adjoining..."Book Nook" bookstore on the lower level. What a great combo and nice change from the big name chain retailer book shop/beverage-snack bar combo. Kind service. Free street parking, located downtown. Social distancing inside.More
We walked in and *tried* to get a coffee on a Saturday at about 6pm and they were closed though the door was not locked. They were already cleaning out the machines so we couldn't get anything. The hours are obviously limited and the welcome...was as cool as the weather. The premise looks interesting - with a downstairs shop and some seating on the main. I won't be back though: they certainly don't serve my coffee-drinking hoursMore
Guido's is an amazing place to drink lattes, socialize, shop, and read. I love both the original location and G2 drive thru. The staff are friendly and efficient. Every visitor I bring to the North Island has a Guido's experience and they always love it!...Please visit this wonderful cafe!More
Guido's is known as a coffee specialist. Too bad they don't know good coffee
Their Espresso is horrible! The bar down the road has far superior espresso . To make things worse, there were 3 girls working behind the counter, yet every table that wasn't...occupied was dirty.More
Café Guido is located in downtown Port Hardy opposite the Port Hardy Museum. It is a good café for coffee but there was not much to choose from in the Vegan or Vegetarian breakfast options. Most of the paninis, pizzas and quiches were non vegetarian....The only vegetarian breakfast option I could find was a Sienna, which was a cheese sandwich with some chopped vegetables in it. I also tried the Apple Cake and it was OK. Prices were on the high side.
However, they have a nice bookshop in the basement with a good collection of books related to the local history, geography and culture of Vancouver Island. Gift items were also available.More
We had a quick stop here for breakfast. The coffee is great!! The food was tasty my husband went back for a second croissant. It’s attached to a super cute book store too which I loved
Definitely worth the stop
