I wish I could give a better review because it looks like other people have enjoyed this place but it was honestly an awful culinary experience... ordered the chowder and it came with two small dry “pieces” (bites?) of bread and no salad like the...pictures show... the chowder itself was lukewarm and the texture was like eating out of a food processor (see pic) . It wasn’t puréed but it wasn’t chunky (perhaps a meal-like texture?). Limited pieces of seafood and the squid was barely cooked. Lastly, the flavour was odd with an overpowering amount of fennel (I personally do not like my chowder to taste so much like liquorice). Overall I would not recommend this restaurant.More

Our dinner consisted of Cod fish and chips and seafood chowder. Both were excellent. The fish was fresh not heavily battered or greasy. We loved the homemade chowder. Great portions as well. We would eat here again for sure.
My wife and I ate here one evening while visiting Port Hardy. The place is quite small inside with a few tables outside on the sidewalk. Parking is on the street or a small lot next door.
I had the chicken strips and my wife...had halibites. Each came with a small salad and fries. I had a beer and my wife had a soda to drink. For dessert we split a dish of ice cream. The bill came to about $33 without tip.
The service was good, the staff friendly and the food good with good portions. We would certainly eat here again if we were in town.More
Service was Great and food fantastic .
We had a very good meal here but indeed, all the fish is deep-fried. Delicious, but no options for pan fried... at least not what we saw. A great treat to have, though.
A great meal. Very friendly servers. Best food was Hallies, bits of halibut in a dipping sauce with a Caesar salad. Yum! Filled us both right up. Would have gone the next day but they closed for a special event.
