We ate here as we were staying the hotel. We have eaten here before when it was simple pub grub and we enjoyed it. We knew it had changed hands and is now a Chinese which we were looking forward to. We ordered a bottle...of Sauvignon Blanc to drink but they were out so we had to have a Chardonnay instead. To eat we ordered pancake rolls and salt & pepper chicken wings from the appetiser menu, and 2 kung pao chicken and rice for main course. We were a little taken back when, just a few minutes later, 1 kung pao chicken and rice was placed in front of us. We asked what was going on as we hadn't had our appetisers yet and the response was the chefs sent it as it was ready! So we asked for another plate so we could share the food, and we were presented with a plastic plate!!. The kung pao was exceptional and we had just had a couple of mouthfuls each when the 2 appetisers were placed in front of us. The appetisers were also exceptional. Unfortunately we had to send the second kung pao back as it was so salty it was totally inedible and we refused to pay for it. When we returned to our hotel room we discovered that we had been charged for a merlot rather than a chardonnay - overcharged by $10. We telephoned the restaurant and told them and the response was that the till didn't have a button for chardonnay so they just pressed merlot instead. They did make amends by sending $10 cash to our room. They need to amend the menu to say "sides" rather than appetisers if the food is going out at the same time, ensure that the food does go at the same time and ensure that the customers are charged correctly. A real shame as 3 of our 4 dishes were truly exceptional.More

We enjoyed our lunch and want to thank Tierra for looking after us. The restaurant was almost empty and we were shown into the conservatory where we had a choice table and a good view of the harbour. The room was light and the tables...well spaced. It was an attractive room. The menu was varied with good options. The dishes very were generous. We had calamari, a steak sandwich and fish tacos. I would recommend eating here.More

This quiet, clean and well maintained hotel is a short drive to or from the day ferry trip. The check in took all of 2 minutes and the rooms were clean, well appointed and easily accessible. A light breakfast was good and with the pub...across the road a nice drink and dinner was easy to access and enjoy.More

Our first time back in six years; it was terrible food back then and is now not only terrible food but awful service as well. All four in our party felt the same. Ribs were tough and bottom sinew layer left on; they were put...on top of fries so the fries were soggy. Homemade salsa was just chopped vegetables seemingly without any spices or vinegars, seafood was all cooked and seasoned in a very mediocre way. Our shoes stuck to the bathroom floors; one stall was completely out of toilet paper and only enough for one person’s use in the other stall. Service was atrocious; waited forever for drinks, windows all open and we, along with other customers, frozen and server refused to close the windows as she deemed it a warm night so no reason to close the windows. Asked for the raw onions on a burger to be cooked instead and server insisted that cooked onions don’t belong on that dish and so would only put “no onions” on the order to the kitchen. A fellow customer asked if his drink was coming soon and was told by the server “I’m busy. If you need your drink now, go talk to the bartender.” We were shocked during the whole experience.More

Went for a bite and drink after kayaking. First time to the area and it was recommended of course by the Quarterdeck Hotel where we were staying. The pub is really worn out and the floors are sticky from something being spilled on them. The...entire place is run down and the bathrooms were horrible. Husband had chicken wings and I had soup of the day, beef vegetable. Both were ok, nothing great. Staff were friendly enough but the place was just awful. Will not return. There must be better options to choose from in Port Hardy.More

I was staying in Hardy for a week for work. I worked until 9pm, and wanted a burger one night. By the time I got back to the hotel, it was 940pm and the kitchen was closed. The wonderful lady at the front desk called...the kitchen, and asked if they could squeeze me in. They did. I went to the pub and was greeted by a wonderful server and the executive chef, who proceeded to make my food even though the kitchen was closed. I ordered a cheese burger with bacon and a side of fries. When the food came out, it was brought out by the executive chef himself, and he even threw a side of gravy in at no charge. The burger and fries were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this pub if you are looking for a casual, and delicious meal!More

I went to the restaurant/pub during Filomi days. One of the “servers” was the cook running around hopelessly trying to wait tables. There was one other man behind the bar who was stressed, overwhelmed and frustrated. 2 members of the public ended up pitching in...and helping these 2 employees by running food and clearing tables while consuming alcohol (inappropriate not to mention unhygienic). The Quartedeck responds to every complaint the same way, “We are under new management.” How can a company be under new management for 3 years and counting? This used to be a great place.More

This pub is a huge disappointment. Great location, but the food sucks and management changes constantly. The ownership of the hotel / pub has ruined what could be a fantastic business

Stopped in Port Hardy for a quick overnight visit and found our way to the Quarterdeck Pub for some cold ones and appies. Ordered the calamari which was delicious and nicely plated and presented. Very impressed with the large portion of tzatziki sauce which accompanied...the order as we usually have to ask for extra because we always run out, but not this time!! We also order the Thai Sweet Chili chicken wings which had plenty of sauce on them and very delicious. Food was good and enjoyable and friendly waitress.More

Nice spot, overlooking marina. Have outside patio (small), as well as enclosed deck traditional indoor seating. Bit of everything on the menu, plus specials. Local brews on tap. Nice, friendly service. Had a chicken burger and chicken fingers for dinner. Both were tasty and generous...sizes. Not fancy, but tasty and cleanMore

Small, family friendly restaurant with a good selection if menu choices at reasonable prices. Seems to be constantly understaffed, so not good for a lunch hour choice, but fine if you have lots of time
