We were visiting Barkerville (staying in town) with friends and the trip coincided with my son's 8th birthday. The Bear's Paw is a short jaunt from Barkerville so we decided to try it for his birthday dinner. We were so happy with our choice! I...More

After 8 days on Bowron Lakes the Bear's Paw serves exactly what you want to eat. Hearty, home cooked food from scratch. Big portions and tasty. Our party loved the Sockeye Salmon and the meatloaf. Loved that each plate came with a big pile of...More

The Bears Paw has delicious food that is fresh made every day. I had the Mediterranean lasagna and ribs that were so delicious. The staff is very friendly. Definitely a great place to go after a long day in historic Barkerville.

Friendly staff, great food, fun atmosphere. The menu is limited so come early to avoid disappointment as favourites can sell out. The owners were super helpful with hints for hiking and canoeing in the area.

Thanks for your kind words and for noticing the quirky salt and pepper shakers. We've always thought that a holiday meal should be just another part of a great vacation, not just a fuel stop, so it's nice to see you enjoyed so many aspects...More

We had two excellent dinners there. The owners are on site to assist with great customer service. You get acknowledged as soon as you come , even if there is a small wait.

Thanks for your high praise and for enjoying your dinner enough to eat here twice. We consider that a great honour in a place with a variety of restaurants from which to choose.

Thanks for waiting to have a great meal, Ed. I just read your review today before heading down to tonights dinner service. What a happy surprise to have someone unintentionally almost quote your story. A couple(who pride themselves on their high taste for ribs) had...More

As a party of 8, we were happily accommodated, even though they were juggling reservations, and other large groups. Because they were busy, they were unable to offer the appetizers in advance - they came with the main meal. The menu is a bit slim...More

Isn't that great pie! Our signature dessert is our Cranberry Carrot cake with Cranberry cream cheese icing, but Laura Peterson makes incredible pies and pie-crusts. She and her husband own a 100 year old orchard and she hand-makes her own pies from her own fruit!...More
