We went to Sassy's for breakfast on the way to the Butchart Gardens, and everything was enormous! They offer gluten-free bread, which I really appreciated, and gluten-free options for most of the menu items. My daughter couldn't eat all of her pancakes, as they were...so big, but she still enjoyed them. This is a good place to come if you have a big appetite! A fun element of the restaurant, which is a very cozy home diner type restaurant that makes you feel like you've gone back in time, is that they have some contests for stuffed animals and other things.More

This is a very homey diner right across from the Butterflies, has ample free oarking and extremely friendly staff. I was very happy to see that hand sanitizer is mandatory upon entry and that the staff is all wearing masks. Some of the banquettes have...very high boards but some do not, and it seems that the latter are closed to seating. Therefore: Although they are not offering a full 2m distance between tables, they really are trying. Also note they are closed Tue and Wed. The bottomless coffee is awesome and I love that they bring the carafe to the table so you dont have to flag the server down for a fresh cup. The Beef Dip did not arrive in record setting time, but when it did, the taste, quality and quantity were exceptional! The only suggestions: Open the bun and sprinkle lots of salt and pepper first, and ask for the fries to be extra crispy. If you do that you will be in diner heaven!More

Sassy’s is a great family restaurant. We are always made to feel so welcome there. They always greet us by name! The food is reasonably priced and tastes great. And they do the best breakfast!! Don’t listen to the bad reviews. Sassy’s is such a...friendly welcoming place. The owner takes the time to chat with customers and makes sure the customers are happy. We are so lucky to have this establishment in our community!More

While exploring the communities around Brentwood Bay, we stumbled across Sassy's. What a great find, the atmosphere is homey and welcoming, the staff are cordial and attentive, the food is outstanding with big portions well prepared. Prices are comparable to the bigger surrounding area. A...bowl of seafood chowder varies from $7 to $13 dollars depending where you go, but Sassy's was exceptionally good.More

I go to Sassy’s when there is a spontaneous group gathering. They’re good about accommodating us, even without reservations. I’ve been there multiple times and find the food to be pretty average for quality, and slightly above average for price. Most of the servers are...very friendly and efficient, however there are one or two who could improve in that area. The owner is fantastic, friendly, and has a great sense of humour! The place needs updating for sure. Portions are small for the price.More

We had an excellent breakfast at Sassy’s a few years ago so we made plans to return today on our trip to the area. It was a huge disappointment! The lunch we had was much over-priced with very small portions! I ordered the meatloaf sandwich...which was simply a small slab of meatloaf on a slice of bread! No veggies or garnishing in any way! It came with a cup of soup for $17+. The restaurant was crowded and noisy. Generally unpleasant. I will not return.More

I had the clubhouse with wedge fries. It was good but the clubhouse has nothing on the Prairie Inn's clubhouse. The wife had beefdip and fries and the mother in law had a greasy 2 piece fish and chips. The service seemed abit slow but...it was busy so understandable. Food cameout in a decent amount of time. All in All not a terrible experience but nothing to get to excited about either. I think I would give it another shot all though there are better cheaper places in the area.More

We have driven by this place many times. We decided to try this place for breakfast. Service was slow and young children all over were noisey. Food was not exceptional, pricey with quality and quantity lacking. Only one washroom with one toilet on the main...level meant to accomodate men, women and disabled, fixtures were dated. Black toilet seat when did you last see that?? Other washrooms at the end of a long flight of stairs down. I guess you have to try everthing once, we did and won't be back.More

I enjoyed a delicious breakfast here today! I ordered the Belgian Waffle with whipped cream and strawberries - and a fruit cup on the side. It took awhile for the food to get there, but it was worth the wait! The waffle was thick and...crispy on the outside - and perfectly soft on the inside.More
