If you are looking for an amazing experience that is going to make you feel like a King, then The Peacock at Rowsley is the venue for you! I can only imagine how spectacular their 15 Rooms must be to stay in, alas we were here only to dine. From Reception we were taken through to the bar where we... More

It is some years since we last ate at the Peacock. On our return, we were not disappointed. The ambiance is still that of an old, comfortable country house hotel. The dining room is relatively small and intimate. The bar has a fine atmosphere and the lounge is comfortable. The food is excellent, interesting, imaginative and above all tasty. The... More

A regular get together for 5 friends, on this occasion we chose the Peacock & were very satisfied. We had a drink in the cosy bar while we looked at the menu & all chose from the lighter lunch choices. This simply means a main sized starter & sweet & a half size main. I think we all agreed that... It is some 40 years since I last visited the Peacock, and I am pleased to report that the welcome, food and ale are as good today as they were the last time I visited!

I came here because I was in the area and needed somewhere to chill for an evening. There is a good choice of beer - mostly Marstons - but there is a bit of a feel of a commercial chain about the place, rather than a local. The beer is good but the food menu is grim.

We have visited this lovely old hotel before and enjoyed a perfect Sunday lunch. On this occasion we went with 2 friends on New Year's day. The food was superb, beautifully coooked and presented and generous portion sizes. The staff are extremely pleasant, very helpful and although aware of their diners requirements are not intrusive in any way. They also... More

We regularly use the Peacock as a convenient place to meet in the afternoon and the the service is always good. There is not a large range on offer but what is offered is good. It is sometime since we have had an evening meal there but when we did the food and service were excellent.

My family and I booked a Christmas Day dinner at the peacock on Christmas Day. There were 12 of us in our party and the whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. The food, the service and the attention to detail was fantastic! Yes it was pricey, but worth every penny, in our option you get what you pay... More
