This was probably among my top 5 worst restaurant experiences. Basically 4 out of five dishes were out of stock. Yet we were only told after ordering, multiple times. The problem wad however what was served in the end. The linguine were package spaghetti, all...More

Great views of the river and punts. Student and university style bar with a good variety of beers on tap and special deals. Outside dock seating busy and vibrant and there is a green nearby for sitting. Staff friendly and complementary, would definitely go back....More

Visited the anchor with a group of friends, it is a lovely pub with a great view of the river. The food was nice, however, I couldn’t believe how much the bill was. I definitely think it’s overpriced for what it is and I’m not...More

We pride ourselves on our home made food, nothing is bought in and is all lovingly prepared on site with our very own chefs, this of course does come at a premium. We do hope you will try us again as our menu is ever...More

A large riverside pub which is popular with tourists and the yoof. Usually very busy, if you want a chat over a beer you might want to go somewhere else.More

Many thanks for your review, during the summer months we can be exceptionally busy and there is definately a lively vibe running through the Anchor but often there are some quieter tables. The beer is ever changing and awesome so well worth dropping in. Hope...More

We'd been to The Anchor a few times before as it has such a gorgeous location in Cambridge, right next to the river. Every time we'd been before, there had been some kind of unpleasant incident with the staff (one man in particular - possibly...More

I wonder if you could email us with specific details and times so that I may investigate this as this is not how we want our business to be portrayed. We do indeed get extremely busy but this should never take away from our politeness...More

Sam M - thanks for your wonderful review! We would rather over estimate than under estimate and obviously you did not venture upstairs to our equally busy dining room overlooking the river Cam too! We are delighted to hear that you relished the fish and...More

Thank you for your feed back, we do not offer table service on our terrace and our blackboard gives you details of how to order at the bar. We usually guide our guests if they are unsure what the process is and apologise if we...More

Very average pub. The fish and chips could do with some more salt. The smokehouse burger could do with some added bbq sauce for the tasteless pulled pork. The skin-on french fries are amazing. Generally overpriced for a gastropub.
