The Eagle is where Watson and Crick would lunch. We didn't eat, just had a pint. The atmosphere was convivial.

Ice, traditional English pub in the heart of Cambridge. Too much history to list here. Just go there and try it. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great location to sit and grab a beer and bite to eat. It never fails to be packed full of patrons, so it really adds to the feel of the venue. As it is still set up for a traditional olde world feel, the seating feels a little claustrophobic and crowded however when you look around whilst... More

we went there just before 5 pm and the place was quite busy. the history of this place is quite interesting. the tables were jammed together with a wide assortment of different chairs. there seemed to be a lot of local people.

Located in a side street close to Kings College this is famously where Crick and Watson spent most lunchtimes with the odd liquid lunch helping them discover DNA. In honour, the Eagle's main beer is called DNA. The back room was the haunt of the RAF and USAF pilots during the 2nd World War with, in addition to the usual... More

Love the Eagle, history bursting at the seams from old coach inn to RAF bar with stacks of memorabilia. Food is great pub grub and staff very friendly. Not always easy to get a perch though.

The Eagle is a true classic. I first came here as a tourist, as you do, and now as someone who lives in Cambridge. It's charming, has great history and is especially cosy in the winter. Sure it has lots of tourists, and it can be hard to get a seat, but it's worth it. The food is quite traditional... More

The pub was great with good service and lots of seating. Prices were a little high which I assume they can get away with because of the number of people wanting to grab a drink where the DNA announcement was made.

We popped in for a drink at about 2 p.m. and, understandably so, the place was heaving. A couple of the beers had run out and it was just about standing room only. Unfortunately its popularity with visitors has made it difficult to enjoy.
