Needed some lunch on the way home. Stopped in here. Food was OK, nothing special. The buffet kept running out of stock, which was a little odd. Staff were helpful, but the manager could have smiled after charging my card.

I asked someone in Cambridge to recommend me a Chinese restaurant near Downing College. I was told that a number of mainland Chinese students doing post-graduate courses would frequent this restaurant. The restaurant's ambience seemed nicer than most Chinese restaurants in Cambridge. But I'm afraid that's the only good thing I can say about this place. I ordered a dish... More

We go to the Seven Days regularly - it's fast, efficient and food is fairly priced and always good quality.

I've been to China many times for work: Beijing, Shanghai, and other cities, so I'm always sceptical when trying Chinese restaurants in the U.K., as most just sell takeaway style rubbish. However, SevenDays breaks that curse by serving brilliantly authentic Chinese food. From fish in hot chilli oil, to double cooked pork. Its clientele is main Chinese residents and students,... More

I went there with my wife who is Chinese and two of her friends from China. We had the hotpot and they absolutely loved it and found it as good as the ones they have in China. On the other hand, don't expect to always find British standards in all aspects of the experience: yes, service is not the most... More

Went early evening, unbooked, with my son when we could not get a table in a (completely empty) Indian restaurant almost opposite. I used to work for a Commonwwealth organisation, and one thing I learnt was that the best Chinese food is found where the other customers are Chinese. Here we were the only white faces in the place. Staff... More

Saw on internet Seven Days had good write-ups so we went along one Thursday evening. First thing is everyone else in restaurant is Chinese. Warmly greeted and helped to make choices from the menu. Dishes are nothing like your average Chinese restaurant or takeaway. This is the real thing.

I've been for lunches an dinners and it is always very good. Even if there are many people you won't wait for a long time. Staff always very kind and the restaurant is nice and clean. Dumplings and delicious beef are my favourite dishes, but I still have to try many more. Hot pot seems delicious... Absolutely recommended
