We were given a corner table which was a good start. Unfortunately the table next to us was rather loud, but that wasn't the restaurants fault. The staff were all very attentive & the food excellent. WE had one or two niggles, one of which was that my husband is allergic to peanuts & they took this to include all... More

As fans of the original Cotto we were delighted to see it re-open in it's new location of the Gonville Hotel in Cambridge. The new restaurant is a much more modern affair, but has lost some of the charm of the original more modest location. A lot of attention has been placed on the comfort and crockery of the new... Having experienced one of the other Cambridge high-end restaurants, Alimentum, this was more expensive, and much lower quality. Firstly, there were too many tables packed in - you could barely push your chair back enough. The amuse bouches were bland to start. The wine was marked up ridiculously - Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé NV Champagne, which costs 35 pounds in Waitrose... More

We stayed a the Gonville Hotel and we're lucky to get a table at the Cotto, that is normally booked out weeks in advance. The quality and preparation of all our dishes we're excellent, the service outstanding, the ambience of the restaurant modern and stylish and while the wine menu is - compared to other restaurants of this class -... We managed to book a table quite late in the week to our surprise, although we had to go at 6.30 which is rather early for us but we didn't feel rushed during the evening so probably were there for about three hours. All the food was beautifully presented and the combination of flavours well thought out and the wine... More

We were so looked after by Ruth and her team at the Cotto. Well worth a visit and will go again when we next visit Cambridge, if you are staying at the Gonville hotel book well in advance to get a table.

If I had one criticism of Cotto when they were at East Rd it was the venue itself. This has now been rectified without doubt! The new restaurant is very luxurious with deep carpets, lovely views across Parkers Piece and well chosen crockery. The food is impeccable and both both tasty and well presented. I attended with my partner and our... More

We used to go to the old Cotto location, and that always was a great experience, and now we have been to the new Cotto in the Goville Hotel. The food is the same extremely high standard, but the location is much better. Thanks to Ruth, Hans and the great staff it was a brilliant evening. A request from my... More
