A stunning building, beautifully restored and serving some of the best quality and best-priced beer in the city. Great to see dark beers always available, the atmosphere is fantastic and, despite not eating there, the food looked and smelled beautiful. Essential for any food and...More

We had one drink here. The guys sitting at the bar recommended one of the beers, which was really nice. Unbelievable that you pay less than £8 for a medium Pinot and a pint of beer. And the quality was good. Nice atmosphere. Definitely worth...More

We visited the Brewery Tap on Old Bridge Street for a lunchtime drink on Friday. Straight from the street, after climbing a few steps, you enter directly into the bar area which is like going back in time. The building dates from 1620 when it...More

Yes folks, it’s Chester, a pint and a large wine exceeds £10. That’s nearly London prices. Food not cheap either. However, what is important is the beer and food is top class. Advice, don’t treat the light bites as a starter, they are a meal...More

A lovely meal including the steak and ale pie, homemade chips and red cabbage, was down with a wonderful pint of Thirstquencher. Superb as always.

A large, bright room with uncrowded tables, a large selection of beers, some interesting and tasty food and friendly staff behind the bar. What more could you want? We had a very pleasant lunch there.

Hi Tara, We're sorry the cask ales were off when you visited last week. One of our beer line coolers failed (though the cellar temp was unaffected) so the beer was too warm at dispense. We pride ourselves on the quality of our real ales...More

Just moved to Chester and this pub is 100mtr from my flat. A fantastic period architecture pub! It’s amazing. Choice of food is good but could do with more vegetarian/vegan choices. According to menu food is local sourced and some is organic. They make their...More

To be honest, conventional is not really their thing. Don't let that put you off though. You can have a Sunday Roast any Sunday you want. You can't always try and enjoy the great food and beer that is served here!
