This place is in a great location right on the canal but the food is just about OK and the service isn't marvellous either. It looks the part, relaxed and alternative but a bit smart. The first time we tried to go in the evening, we had a delightful 10 year old with us but weren't allowed in. I hate... More

We visited last night for an evening meal. The restaurant/bar was very relaxed yet vibrant. Customer service was welcoming, friendly and efficient, whilst the food was excellent - so much so that we enjoyed 3 courses. The drinks menu is fantastic and quite special. Would definitely revisit

We shared a salad & pizza. Food was excellent quality. Service was good & the building/atmosphere very appealing. Highly recommended & we will return. The canal side location is very relaxing.

Nice location and in good weather a place to sit outdoors. Small selection on the set menu but easy to find something you want. We had roast beef and it was good. Reasonably priced. Service fast and after lunch were able to move to a comfortable sofa to continue chatting. Overall a good experience.

We all chose the Sunday lunch with an aperitif of sherry and almonds as recommended The beef was beautifully cooked and so delicious accompanied by a plentiful and varied amount of vegetables and extra gravy The staff were very attentive without being intrusive We had desserts but couldn't finish them as we were full but the rice pudding was great... I was taken here for my birthday meal and I had a truly wonderful evening. We had the bhaji and the pie and they were both absolutely delicious. The servers were happy and chatty, the food was delivered quickly, and I look forward to going back.

The artichoke is situated on the canal in an old warehouse. It is extremely cosy and charming and allows children (unlike the adjacent Harkers' Arms). The selection of draft beers, wines and spirits is mind-blowing (pretty much anything you can think of and the staff are very knowledgeable). Dining is relaxed. Three of us all had the veal burger, which... More

We have visited Chester a lot of times and tasted some beautiful. Cocktails over the years at this nice place close to the canal. Thin year we managed to taste their Sunday dinner. We started with some salami salad and some Salmon and bream salad - beautiful! Followed by the nicest Sunday roast (we had beef and pork) I have... More
