We love Porta it's our favourite in Chester. So quaint and tapas food is beautiful. Patatas bravas and croquetas!! Has to be done...

We decided not to eat here in the end as they didn't stock a wine I liked... Only one rose on the menu which was a shame. However the staff were great, so friendly especially the waitress. This restaurant came highly recommended and we would have stayed had they had more choice in rose. Olives were AMAZING!!

Great atmosphere in small rustic Tapas Bar on the edge of the town. Quite small and cosy inside with a smallish out door seating area for when the weather is kind. Nice range of reasonably priced standard Tapas dishes and a good range of new ones to try as well. Good selection of wines to wash them down and overall... More

Great tapas - the only downside is how popular it was the night we were there, but this was a Friday night and JB's next door was closed for a private party so this may not be representative of a normal Friday. We had to wait about 40 minutes for a table but had drinks while waiting and were able... More

Went there in a Sunday night with some friends and enjoyed some nice tapas. The food was authentic and tasty, however a bit overpriced. Were sitted on the second floor, and I must admit the light wasn't great, I understand the intent of creating an appealing atmosphere, but if was too dark. I'm giving it 4 stars as I really... More

** Fair disclaimer - I prefer less salt than most people I know - as such your mileage may vary ** We stumbled on Porta on our way out of Chester, knowing nothing about it, and decided to pop in for food. The restaurant is fabulously atmospheric - very cosy and compact, filled to bursting (downstairs anyway) with only around... More

We visited Porta on a friend's recommendation and we're so glad we did. Porta's 'small and intimate' gives a very authentic feel, the staff are great and the food was brilliant, loved it!

Tucked away down a small side alley off Northgate street, we have passed Porta so many times, promising ourselves we would try it out. This we did last night and very glad we did. It is small, but perfectly formed! It has a very welcoming atmosphere , two floors with just a few tables on each level.the lighting makes it... More
