After years of driving past Lakeside we stopped in for lunch today. The cafe has a lovely setting looking out across the lake. The interior is modern and clean. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad which was one of the best I have had. Very happy customer and we will be retuning on our next visit to Newquay.

Went to this little gem last weekend, not really sure of what delights we were about to sample. I have to say, it was an excellent find, and one I would not hesitate to go back to again, which I fully intend to. Though the menu was small ( but very well balanced ) the specials board was full of... More

Once again the Lakeside came up trumps. The food was excellent, there was 12 of us and all the meals came together. Everyone enjoyed their meals and were very complimentry about the staff. Its a lovely location and parking is relatively easy. If you mention its a special occassion they always dress the table, which is lovely touch. They also... More

Tried to get in for Sunday lunch but thankfully fully booked. The food looked nice when we called in for a coffee later that afternoon but the service was shocking. Very rude waitress to the lady in front of me and myself. Ordered 3 drinks, they brought 4, no idea what I actually paid for! Babyccino for my son just... More

Nothing to look at from the outside and would not have gone if I had not had this place recommended but inside the cafe is very nice indeed. I had scrambled eggs on toast which were delicious but my son's bacon on his breakfast looked like it could have done with being cooked longer but I know this is personal... More

Lovely place with a pleasant view overlooking the lake. Very friendly staff and very busy so a reservation is needed as it's obviously popular with locals and visitors alike. Great choice with a specials board too and very good food. My husband had the mussels which he rated 10/10!

Excellent menu, very hard to make a choice. Staff are fabulous great service. Not expensive a must visit. The gin a tonic smoked salmon with mackerel pate popcorn mussels and warm ciabatta was out of this world. You can tell it's good when locals go there to eat. Thursday night is steak night which is a good plate of food... More

Always a favourite for morning coffee or afternoon tea when we are in Newquay. Haven't yet tried the themed evening meals ( Wednesday steaks, Thursday pies) but a pleasure to anticipate. Set back from the road behind a lake festooned with many kinds of water birds, a table at the large glass panoramic window lets you watch the world go... More

Been a regular for many years and I love the place! But I'd like to see something done with that old wooden pagoda, either paint it or replace it! All around it has recently been spruced up yet, the pagoda itself remains untouched; where a little grey paint would suffice? Also, the patio wooden floor could do with a bit... More
