Stayed in Penzance for two nights and ate here the first night - the fish & chips was so outstanding that we came back the second night. This time I had the grilled hake with parma ham, which was just as good. It's a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly. Prices were very reasonable. There were a few local... More

We stopped by for drinks in the late afternoon and it was pretty quiet. Good selection of drinks and plenty of local types. The staff were very friendly and the menu looked very good. Will come back again for food!

Sadly we discovered the Dolphin on our penultimate night so only eat here twice. Both times I went with "off the boat" selections - Crab and Prawn chilli linguine and grilled hake with parma ham crisp. Both were fantastic. I could eat here every night for a week and not run out of things I liked from the menu. Cheeseboard... More

Stopped off for a couple drinks and the specials looks so good ended up ordering a few starters to share. Staff were really friendly and food was amazing! We had scallops, mackerel and crab and prawn cocktail- reasonably priced and really tasty!

The place is a little dark inside so we moved once a table came free by the window. Food is ok. I had the vegey 5 bean chilli with rice, garlic bread & sour cream which was ok. My fiance had the steak & and pie which came with chips & peas which was okay, but he wouldn't have it... More

Quaint old pub, a very friendly welcome from the bar staff. Our children were made very welcome too. Good variety on the menu with some tasty specials. Food order and service were prompt. I can recommend the salt and pepper squid as a starter or main. Great desserts as well. We'll be back!

We stayed at the Dolphin Tavern, at each end of a lovely trip to the Scilly Isles. What a wonderful gem of a find! Brilliant clean modern room, amazing breakfast and evening meal. All the staff were helpful and attentive. Enjoyed the local atmosphere in the bar too.

We had lunch here 28th March, 3 adults and 1 dog, all meals were delicious and the service was prompt and efficient. The interior is in keeping with the area and clean. We only ate here once during our weeks holiday due to wanting to try other places however I could have ate here everyday.

We ate here as a family party and were very happy with both the food and the service. The menu was unpretentious "pub grub", very reasonably priced, with (unsurprisingly) an emphasis on seafood, but the vegetarian in our party was also well catered for. Portions were generous. My moules marinieres were about the best mussels I have had anywhere, plump... More
