I may even have reviewed this before...but even in mid-winter it's always a lovely experience. Leave the car at Saltings and get the train to St Ives. Walk down to the beach through the gardens. I always love the squid starter. I have difficulty choosing anything else. The crab linguine is to die-for too. This time I had the most... More

My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing cup of coffee here this morning looking out over the bay watching the world go by . The staff were very friendly and attentive.

The food was great but the customer service was a let down. They staff were rude and not very welcoming. I was also made to feel like we were being hinted to hurry up and go. Such a same as it is in a lovely location and the food was very nice.

Only had time for morning coffee here twice.. great place to stop on a cold winter morning. Warm and cosy with stunning views across to St Ives. Main memu looks worth a try. Guess it must be very busy in holidays but lots of room to sit outdoors. Literally is on the south west coast path so great for walkers.

September 2015, I came with my Thai partner to my most favourite of restaurants, so famous and so close to my place of birth and was disappointed. Sadly, I came again to the Porthminster Beach Café on a return visit with 3 friends and left dispirited and sad. This once lovely place has lost its spirit and ethos. Reading in... More

Good menus lunch & dinner, wine list from under £20 to over £130 e.g. Australian Chardonnay £99-+ Pol Roger Champagne £130-+ though cheaper wines on offer range to suit all budgets, would reserve table as not large covers. Three window seats available which are often pre-booked weeks ahead.

Great food in a great beach setting. We had the beef and monkfish curry dishes, which were a delight and extremely generous in terms of portion size. Only slight complaint is the amount of waiting on staff- only 2 for a full sitting. It is understandable that staff numbers will be reduced during the winter months, but that hindered this... More

The rare negative review of this place seemed so ludicrous when four of us had Sunday lunch here recently. The food, wine, service and setting were all excellent and worth the money, which these days is not even the silly money some places charge.

this is our favourite place in St.Ives narrowly beating the Seafood Cafe. The location is stunning and when the weather is smiling eating on the terrace cannot be beaten. The food choices were interesting and tasted fresh . Great wine, a little on the expensive side but overall it is well worth it.
