We had dinner here on a Saturday night, whilst staying up the road at the Tresanton. We didn't have a reservation and managed to nab a table just before they stopped seating diners at about 9pm. I loved all three courses: spicy, piping hot fried oysters to start; a really good seafood spaghetti as a main, with well-cooked pasta, generous... More

Really enjoyed a great meal and the staff were great. But I am not sure why people need to bring their dogs out to dinner with them?

This was our second visit in eight weeks. Dined in the upstairs dining room. Seafood was fresh, beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were very professional and polite and had a "can do attitude ". Also tried the takeaway part one evening which was also brilliant. Well behaved dogs are also permitted in the downstairs restaurant. In my opinion this... More

The food here is very good - excellent fresh fish and good pasta dishes. It is family friendly with a quieter room upstairs. The service is very good too. My only criticism is that it is a bit pricey for what it is. Prices are about 25% higher than I would expect for this sort of restaurant and quality. Otherwise... More

Superb fish and chips, nice location and a lovely local pale ale. Even a fussy five year old ate all his food.

We had a large family evening meal at the restaurant during our stay at St Mawes. We found the standard of the food excellent and the general atmosphere most welcoming and friendly. A very nice evening.

Subjective I know but this restaurant frequently out-punches both the Idle Rocks and the Tresanton with the scope and deliciousness of its menus. Each time we come down to stay, and that's about three times a year, we compare the menus of the two 'high-ticket' aforementioned restaurants, and in the last two years the Watch House has won our custom... Ate here on A Saturday evening with husband and two children (14 and 11) and can thoroughly recommend. The food is delicious, served with a contemporary twist and the menu was a perfect blend so as to entice the palate of all. We didn’t find it expensive and fairly reflected the excellent food. The restaurant was busy but the lighting,... More
