We dined for lunch at the Watch House in July, and found it to be a really lovely restaurant. We sat by the window so it was so nice to overlook the harbour and do a bit of people watching. We found the lunch menu...More

Had a lovely meal there with family. The menu was varied, simple and authentic to the setting. The wines are well priced and matched to the menu and the light and simple decor is very refreshing. Great service and the grilled mackerel was wonderful. I'll...More

You can tell when a place is really good when the locals start raving about it. We mentioned that we'd had lunch here to various people - the barman in our hotel, a friend we bumped into, some other pals we met up with -...More

I'm new to St Mawes and was really pleased to find such good places to eat, including The Watch House. Great menu, not expensive, very fresh feel to the place .... not much more to say, except thanks.

What would have been a lovely evening, of excellent food, was ruined by poorly trained foreign staff! we felt ignored and, at best, an inconvenience to the entire evenings proceedings. Get someone on the front of house that can at the very least converse in...More

Stayed in St Mawes for a great weekend and the real highlight was the superb meal we had here at The Watch House. The chefs clearly know exactly what they are doing and the food was cooked and presented exceptionally well. The menu choice was...More

When we visited St Mawes a year ago, these premises were occupied by an extremely old fashioned tea room - and I mean old fashioned in the not-so-good way. Whilst sitting there amongst the dated, dusty decor, listening to a soundtrack of bad cover versions...More

Although the Watch House had only recently opened my wife experienced no "new restaurant" problems when we dined there. The decor is simple but attractive, the food (fish is the specialty) fresh and well prepared and service both pleasant and efficient. Wine and food prices...More
