Sumptuous setting and very good grub. We shared marinated anchovies and manchego to start, followed by heritage tomato salad with labneh for me and Octopus for my OH. Lovely fresh ingredients, simply and deliciously prepared.

Best scallops we had in Dartmouth. And they were local. Actually everything we ate was yummy. Nice range of gin and good wine list. House wine good as was the Viognier

I was a little sceptical about how good or otherwise tapas might be in Dartmouth but was overwhelmingly convinced following a lovely meal here with my wife last week. We ate a wide selection of dishes and all were amazing, especially the heritage tomato salad with fried capers and chickpeas, which was a triumph. We drank some good Portuguese red... More

We were staying close by to this lovely Brasserie and popped in for brunch on Saturday afternoon......we realised once we looked at the menu that they only served food until 3pm, we had arrived at 3.05pm! The manager/owner and staff were so helpful, they said we could order anything we liked, they gave great advice on the wine list, and... More

Had a lovely evening at Browns. Excellent wine with great stories and recommendations from James, and delicious tapas-style food. If they were open on Sunday evenings we'd be back for a second successive evening.

Went to Brown's for dinner last night and absolutely loved it. Excellent, freshly cooked, tasty, filling tapas along with delicious, interesting wine, all with good, friendly service. James took time to talk us through the wine list and it was clear he'd put a lot of thought and passion into the wines he chose. Under his friendly guidance we had... More

The bar/restaurant has had a complete makeover and the food switched from bistro to more casual excellent tapas and sharing food. Really top notch food - served from the bar. Outstanding food from the canapés through to the local cheeses. Great value for money. Breakfasts at Browns are cooked to order and there are fruits and yogurt plus plenty of fresh coffee and tea-all very good.

My wife and I had dinner at Brown's for the first time, and were made very welcome by Lee. We enjoyed some delicious seafood, and my main course of gurnard fillet with samfire, brown shrimp and fondant potatoes was delicious. The fish was generously-portioned and perfectly cooked. Overall we had the impression of a very high standard of cooking that... More

I'm so sorry, we seem to have had two versions of menu on the go at the same time. Definitely our mistake and something we'll try not to do again. Of course it wasn't your fault! More
