Called in on the way to Exeter for a quick bite and were hugely impressed with what we found. Hugely welcoming and efficient staff and the best burger I've ever eaten (and believe me I've eaten a few!!). I can see from the reviews that there may have been a change in ownership in the recent past so let me... More

Since our last visit the new management team have been hard at work making more improvements to the restaurant area and to the menu with new items added. It good to find that the real Ale is still available ( definitely the best along the A30!) but it would be nice to have the old supply of Pork Scratchings back... More

Cosy pub with wood burning stove, well kept real ales, average food on a pretty limited menu. Conveniently close to the A30.

If you add warm and attentive service you know you are on... More

Our visit to the Old Thatch was okay. Firstly the staff were particularly welcoming, friendly and efficient. Good selection of drinks. The food was hit and miss between our group of six. I had the one special on the board which was a beef and tarragon pie with mash and mashed swede and carrots in a good gravy which was... More

Saw it an advertised on a road side sign, and thought we would give it a try.It really was an excellent choice! It was busy but we were greeted by one of the friendly staff, and shown to a Table. In spite of it being busy,it was not a long wait, and we were served with drinks whilst waiting. The food was excellent,as were the... Landlord is a star, helped me with a flat tyre, which is the reason that we stopped here. Great food, real scrum my.....steak to die for....diet went out the window. Can't believe how good this totally unplanned stop was. Fabulous. The beer is the real thing aswell, someone put some effort into this place, which we appreciated in full
