Only downside to the pub is that it seems to be at the xxxx end of the Universe. First time the sat nav took us through some wonderful National Trust woods only to tell us we had arrived at our destination when we were in...More

We had friends visiting from Hampshire so wanted to take them somewhere just a bit more special than the average pub that serves food... and The Five Bells absolutely delivered ! It's tucked away in a beautiful setting in Mid-Devon and certainly worth searching out....More

We were recommended the Five Bells by one of our neighbours and the Five Bells did not disappoint, from the ease of booking a table to the friendly but efficient welcome and generally made to feel at home. We would have rated the restaurant as...More

Service, atmosphere, and food are truly excellent. I had the torched mackerel to start with, followed by a heavenly venison, and finally a feather light tiramisu! simply wonderful. And the service is attentive, efficient, professional, and friendly. 5 stars well deserved.

Honey comb cheesecake tasted odd, couldn't taste the honey. Chips for steak come in a bowl the same size as the sauce. Potatoes must be expensive locally. Corus Irish stout was wonderful. Good night out
