Plus points....beautiful location, lovely well tendered gardens. Pianist (if you like that sort of thing) Not so good points.....long wait for food so don't go in you're restricted with parking ticket times or have children to collect from school as we did! Staff work extremely hard but clearly need more for lunchtime. Such a shame it took so long for... More

Rose Cottage is in a fab location in Cockington Village Devon , gardens are tranquil and superbly manicured. Pianist playing in the spring sunshine attracts the crowds Yes food is basic, but it is still a little Gem just for a snack or drink and let the world go by||||

We called in here to start our visit to Cockington and just had coffees on the terrace. However we were soon delighted when a man started to play the piano, serenading us with tunes of yesteryear. The grounds are immaculate and its a little haven on tranquility. Wish we'd had time for a cream tea.

This week visited Rose Cottage following recommendation and wasn't disappointed. Uncovered this little gem of a place! Idillic setting, quaint pianist and the best cream tea I have had anywhere. Well worth the trip.

Set in the midst of the picturesque Cockington Village above bandstand, lake and with pianist playing daily. Whilst providing a variety of food this is the ideal venue to have the Devon Cream tea experience. Freshly baked scones with plentiful supply of jam and clotted cream accompanied with a choice of teas or coffee. Magical!!

Every time we visit the area we make a bee line for Rose Cottage, the cream tea is to die for. The ambience of the pianist in the garden and the whole setting is quite idyllic.

We always enjoy our choice of food and drinks at Rose Cottage Tea Rooms. We were very lucky with the weather in October, which adds to the taste of our food eating outside in the very beautiful gardens.

Our group of 8 booked a table for 2 hours ahead on the way past as we visited the Country Park. The staff were very helpful and reserved a table then and there. We were not disappointed. The food was fresh and very well presented. I personally tried the fish cakes. They were very nice and the chips were to... More

Lovely, peaceful, tranquil spot for a nice pot of tea in the immaculately kept gardens listening to a man play the piano. Cockington is well worth a visit and Rose Cottage is a must.
