A great sized restaurant, not too small and not vast so quite intimate. Good value Turkish food in a street where there are lots of choice. About £40 for a couple including wine. Worth a visit but difficult parking close by.

Have been to Baraca a few times now. Very friendly people, great tasty food and excellent price. The Meze Baraca is particularly good food and great value

This is a wonderful place. Doesn't look like much from outside but the meze starters are super, duper and nicely priced Falafel, chicken wings and hummus all very fresh. Star of the show was a lamb shish with chargrilled vegetables ( carrots, green beans and cauliflower . freshly made yogurt added to experience. Lovely attention to detail like a cold... More

Baraca is, and has been for some time, THE Restaurant to visit in Charminster. It has had a long and well deserved reputation for Turkish and regional dishes, a marvelously peaceful and calm atmosphere, and absolutely impeccable service and attention to detail. On my most recent visit I was horrified to discover that the wonderful menu had been replaced with... More

Firstly, don't be put off by the rough bits around the edge. Yep, the decor is not perfect, and we would have liked to have been served a little quicker... BUT the main dishes (we had mixed meat platter, and the rubbed chicken) were perfect. Also, if you're feeling peckish, remember you get bread, oil and olives anyway!

I visited this restaurant last night with 3 friends and can't recommend it enough. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the KÜLBASTI and it was excellent, the lamb was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. And to make it even better, the service was excellent, and the meal was very good value.

We have been coming here for years and we always have the mixed hot and cold Meze. It's very good. The owner is from Turkey so that's the influence. Decor is perhaps a little dated but that does take away from the quality of the food. Very reasonably priced and well deserving of a visit.

We had the mezze platter for two & it was lush. We noticed there were lots of peeps having a fry up so we were a bit apprehensive but needn't have been the Turkish menu was vast. My friend doesn't normal like this type of food and loved it. The flavours were lovely and portion size brilliant. In fact the... More

Ten years ago, an elegant lady used to welcome us, few evenings, with the very specific and delicious fresh and hot pita, olives and olives oil from the house. after that, lots of Cyprus delicious dishes dance for us. She always supervise everything from her beautiful old armchair with her hookah.. This time was a bit strange to see a... More
