The staff are very friendly, there has a very big range of real ales and ciders. The food is good value for money and there is a big variety to choose from. Very nice meals

I called in for a quick drink. The menu contain some specials and a curry night and a steak night. The choice of ciders is outstanding.

There are not many really good pubs in swanage, in my honest opinion. This was recommended to us so we booked a table. When we entered the restaurant through the bar it was dark, dingy and didn't feel too clean. Our table was sticky. I have food allergies but the friendly waitress couldn't tell me what was in the meal I wanted. I ordered lasagne and salad and it tasted like no lasagne... More

Visited several times during our stay. Pleasant staff, excellent beers (TT Landlord a stand out) and finished with a really tasty meal (liver and bacon with excellent veg) which was reasonably priced. What I like is it is unpretentious unlike some Swanage gastropubs! We'll be back and thanks.

Went here for a late drink. There are so many pubs around that are all very much Chain pubs etc,. but not at the Red Lion. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and reasonably priced.

I've been to The Red Lion many times and usually enjoy sitting outside at the back in the sun. However, in March, this wasn't possible! It was very quiet during our mid-week, lunchtime visit and was a pleasant place to relax. Our meals were ok but nothing remarkable - in fact, the fish pie didn't score very highly on taste,... More
